Alberni Valley Bulldogs
The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are a Junior "A" ice hockey team based in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Island Division of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). They play their home games at Weyerhaeuser Arena. History The Bulldogs were founded as an expansion team in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in Burnaby, British Columbia, in 1998. They were moved to Port Alberni in 2002. After being run as a community owned franchise for many years, the club was sold on July 18th, 2019. The BCHL board of governors granted unanimous approval for Keycorp Sports & Entertainment Ltd to acquire a majority share in the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Joining Keycorp Sports and Entertainment are Ron Coutre of Victoria, Luke Betts of Coquitlam, Dennis See, Stefanie Weber and Tim Maclean all of Port Alberni. Port Alberni
Port Alberni () is a city located on Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia, Canada. The city lies within the Alberni Valley at the head of the Alberni Inlet, Vancouver Island's longest inlet. It is the location of the head offices of the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District. Tri-City Americans
The Tri-City Americans are a major junior ice hockey team of the Western Hockey League, based in Kennewick, Washington. The team plays its home games at Toyota Center. Every game is broadcast locally on the Tri-City Americans' flagship radio station 870 AM KFLD, and each game can also be heard streaming live aKFLD's UStream Channel as well as occasionally being telecast on Saturday nights on KVEW 42.2. David Dziurzynski
David Dziurzynski (born October 6, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing with the Kansas City Mavericks in the ECHL. He previously played with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Dziurzynski, who played junior in the British Columbia Hockey League with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, was signed by the Ottawa Senators on April 6, 2010 as an undrafted free agent to a three-year contract. At training camp in 2010, Dziurzynski made the roster of the Senators' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Binghamton Senators. He was a member of the 2011 AHL Calder Cup championship squad. Dziurzynski returned to Binghamton for the 2011–12 and 2012–13 seasons. Dziurzynski made his NHL debut, playing for Ottawa in Toronto against the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 16, 2013. Casey Bailey
Casey Bailey (born October 27, 1991) is an American professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with ERC Ingolstadt in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Bailey played college hockey with the Penn State Nittany Lions and is the first Penn State player to play in the NHL. Bailey played 13 games in the NHL for the Toronto Maple Leafs, whom he signed with out of college, and the Ottawa Senators. Playing career As a youth, Bailey played in the 2004 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Alaska. Bailey played junior A hockey for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League from 2009 to 2012 before going to play college hockey with the Penn State Nittany Lions. Nanaimo Clippers
The Nanaimo Clippers are a Junior "A" ice hockey team based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Island Division of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). They play their home games at Frank Crane Arena. Franchise history The original owner, Cliff McNabb, drew inspiration for the Clippers name from the local teams of the Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association prior to 1972 which carried the clippers name. The Nanaimo Clippers won the league championship in the 1976 playoffs but lost by default for the Mowat Cup (Provincial Championship). The Clippers were once again league champions in 1978 when the Penticton Vees refused to play the balance of the series (citing rough play – the series stood at 2 games to 1).
