Alb Limes
The Alb Limes (german: Alblimes) is a Roman frontier fortification or ''limes'' of the late 1st century AD in the Swabian Jura, also known as the Swabian Alb. The Alb Limes runs for just under 135 kilometres from Rottweil (Latin: '' Arae Flaviae'') in the southwest to Heidenheim an der Brenz (Latin: ''Aquileia'') in the northeast. Roman Empire
The Roman Empire ( la, Imperium Romanum ; grc-gre, Βασιλεία τῶν Ῥωμαίων, Basileía tôn Rhōmaíōn) was the post-Republican period of ancient Rome. As a polity, it included large territorial holdings around the Mediterranean Sea in Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia, and was ruled by emperors. Kastell Lautlingen
The Cittadella ( mt, Iċ-Ċittadella), also known as the Castello ( mt, Il-Kastell), is the citadel of Victoria on the island of Gozo, Malta. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by the Cittadella is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of ''Gaulos'' or ''Glauconis Civitas''. During the medieval period, the acropolis was converted into a castle which served as a refuge for Gozo's population. A suburb began to develop outside its walls by the 15th century, and this area now forms the historic core of Victoria. The castle's defences were obsolete by the 16th century, and in 1551 an Ottoman force invaded Gozo and sacked the Cittadella. A major reconstruction of the southern walls of the Cittadella was undertaken between 1599 and 1622, transforming it into a gunpowder fortress. Lonsee
Lonsee is a town in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The population of Lonsee in 2019 is 5010; the town consists of 7 villages – Ettlenschieß, Halzhausen, Lonsee, Luizhausen, Radelstetten, Sinabronn, and Urspring. The village has a town hall, two railway stations on the Fils Valley Railway, and two schools. Various clubs and groups provide for an active social life. Römerstein (Gemeinde)
Römerstein is a municipality in Baden-Württemberg, Germany; three formerly independent villages (Böhringen, Donnstetten, Zainingen) and two hamlets (Strohweiler and Aglishardt) were merged in 1975. Townhall is in Böhringen. The community is located on the Swabian Alb, in the northeastern corner of the district of Reutlingen. The community is named after the Römerstein, the highest hill of the region at 875 m.
