Alan McKee (playwright)
Alan McKee is an Australian university professor and researcher of sexualised media. He has served as the president of the Cultural Studies Association of Australasia and sits on the editorial boards of the academic journals ''Continuum'', ''M/C Journal'', and the magazine ''Girlfriend Guide to Life''. Education He originally studied film and television, graduating with a PhD from the University of Glasgow in 1996. Career After emigrating to Australia McKee worked at Edith Cowan University and the University of Queensland before moving to the Queensland University of Technology, where he is currently a professor in the Creative Industries Faculty. He has published six academic books and over sixty refereed journal articles and book chapters. Brackets
A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Typically deployed in symmetric pairs, an individual bracket may be identified as a 'left' or 'right' bracket or, alternatively, an "opening bracket" or "closing bracket", respectively, depending on the Writing system#Directionality, directionality of the context. Americanization or Americanisation (see spelling differences) is the influence of American culture and business on other countries outside the United States of America, including their media, cuisine, business practices, popular culture, technology or political techniques. Some observers have described Americanization as synonymous with progress and innovation. However, it is also used as a pejorative term by critics who oppose American influences. ''Porn Studies'' is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal covering the study of pornography. It is published by Routledge and was established in 2014. Paul Anthony Michael McDermott (born 13 May 1962) is an Australian entertainer, best known both for ''Good News Week'' and for his role as a member of the musical comedy group the Doug Anthony All Stars. ''Big Brother Australia'' (also known simply as ''Big Brother'') is an Australian reality show based on the international '' Big Brother'' format created by John de Mol. Following the premise of other versions of the format, the show features a group of contestants, known as "housemates" who live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. Melbourne University Publishing (MUP) is the book publishing arm of the University of Melbourne. History MUP was founded in 1922 as Melbourne University Press to sell text books and stationery to students, and soon began publishing books itself.
