Alan Macmillan
Alan Macmillan (born 1949) is a television producer and director. Education Macmillan was educated at Strathallan School and the Birmingham School of Art. Director Macmillan started his directing career in the mid-1980s making several documentaries and a docudrama called '' Charles Rennie Mackintosh: Dreams and Recollections'' for Scottish Television. In 1987 he was asked to direct several episodes of ''Taggart'', the Scottish detective series, which he would continue to work on until 2005. Macmillan was producer and director of '' Crime Story: The Britoil Affair'', which was nominated in the Best Single Drama category at the 1993 BAFTA Scotland Awards. A television producer is a person who oversees one or more aspects of video production on a television show, television program. Some producers take more of an executive role, in that they conceive new programs and pitch them to the television networks, but upon acceptance they focus on business matters, such as budgets and contracts. Other producers are more involved with the day-to-day workings, participating in activities such as screenwriting, Scenic design, set design, Casting (performing arts), casting, and directing. Ballykissangel
''Ballykissangel'' is a BBC television drama created by Kieran Prendiville and set in Ireland, produced in-house by BBC Northern Ireland. The original story revolved around a young English Roman Catholic priest as he became part of a rural community. It ran for six series, which were first broadcast on BBC One in the United Kingdom from 1996 to 2001. It aired in Ireland on RTÉ One and in Australia on ABC TV from 1996 to 2001. Repeats have been shown on Drama in the United Kingdom and in the United States on some PBS affiliates. Significant changes in the cast occurred at the end of series 3 following the departure of central characters Peter Clifford and Assumpta Fitzgerald. ''Roy'' is an Irish animated children's television series which was broadcast by TRTÉ in Ireland, CBBC (TV channel), CBBC in the United Kingdom and ABC3 in Australia. It aired from 1 July 2009 to 1 April 2015. The show centres on the title character Roy O'Brien, the 11-year-old animated son of a live-action family, as he settles into his new school in a suburb of Dublin. The series is filmed as a mockumentary and based on the short film called ''Badly Drawn Roy'' which was commissioned by the Irish Film Board, RTÉ and the Arts Council of Ireland through their frameworks scheme for new animation. ''The Witch's Daughter'' is a children's novel by Nina Bawden, first published in 1966. It has been dramatised for television twice, with Fiona Kennedy (1971) and Sammy Glenn (1996) in the title role. Take The High Road
''Take the High Road'' (renamed ''High Road'' from 1994 to 2003) was a Scottish soap opera produced by Scottish Television, which started in February 1980 as an ITV network daytime programme, and was broadcast until 2003.
