Alan Flynn
Alan Flynn (28 September 1994) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Kiladangan and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team since 2017. He usually lines out as a left corner-back. Flynn is the brother of fellow Tipperary hurler Paul Flynn. Kildangan GAA (Tipperary)
Kiladangan GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Hurling is the main sport which is played in the "North Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Puckane but includes the areas of Ballycommon, Monsea and Dromineer near Nenagh. Kiladangan was formerly known as Kildangan GAA, however in January 2016 the club reverted to its former name of Kiladangan GAA. At the present time both club names are used interchangeably. Hurling club history From the foundation of the club in 1915, teams competed in the various championships in County Tipperary – Senior, Intermediate and Junior under various guises, namely Kiladangan, Kildangan, Ballycommon, Carney, Knigh and Lahorna. Paul Flynn (Tipperary Hurler)
Paul Flynn is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Kildangan and has been a member of the Tipperary senior inter-county hurling team since 2017. He is also the brother of fellow Tipperary hurler Alan Flynn. Career On 5 March 2017, Flynn made his senior Tipperary debut against Clare in the 2017 National Hurling League when he came on as a second-half substitute, replacing Aidan McCormack after 56 minutes. He went on to score two points from play in a 0–21 to 0–28 win. Kildangan Hurlers (Tipperary)
Kildangan (; ) is a village in County Kildare in Ireland. History During the Anglo-Norman settlement of Ireland, Maurice Fitzgerald of Allen built a castle there as part of a defensive line along the River Barrow from Carlow to Lea Castle near Portarlington. Near the castle a church was built which gave the locality its name. The original castle and church were located within what are now the grounds of Kildangan Stud. The castle was dynamited in 1882 and the stone reused to build the existing Victorian Jacobean style house to the design of William Hopkins. Location Kildangan is situated on the R417 between Monasterevin and Athy. The village lies close to the flood plain of the River Barrow, near the County Laois border. Kildangan is linked to Kildare town by means of the Local Road L3010, which passes through Kildangan Stud. 2020 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 2020 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 130th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 27 January 2020. The championship was scheduled to begin in April 2020, however, it was postponed indefinitely due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games. The championship eventually began on 25 July and ended on 20 September 2020. Borris–Ileigh were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Drom & Inch in a penalty shoot-out at the quarter-final stage. Burgess were relegated after a 1–17 to 0–16 defeat by Éire Óg Annacarty in a playoff. 2019 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 2019 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 132nd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament, since its establishment in 1887. The draw for the 2019 fixtures took place on 11 October 2018. The championship began on 11 May 2019 and concluded on 18 August 2019. Limerick were the defending champions. Carlow returned to the Leinster Championship for the first time since 2016, replacing Offaly who were relegated in 2018. Carlow lost all their four games in 2019 and were automatically relegated to the 2020 Joe McDonagh Cup. Tipperary were the winners, defeating Kilkenny in the final. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. 2017 Tipperary County Hurling Team Season
The 2017 season was Michael Ryan's second year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team. On 28 November 2016, Pádraic Maher was named as the new captain of the Tipperary Senior hurling team for 2017 with Séamus Callanan named as vice-captain. Intersport/Elverys continued as sponsors of Tipperary GAA for a third year. Tipperary wore a New Jersey design for the first time on 23 April in the League final against Galway. The new design has Intersport with Elverys underneath with Elverys.ie on the back shoulders. The Tipperary players and management team traveled to Miami in December 2016 for a team holiday where they rang in the new year.
