Allan Barry
Allan Barry (born December 24, 1930) is a former American football offensive guard in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants. He also played in the American Football League for the Los Angeles Chargers. He played college football at the University of Southern California. Early years Barry attended Beverly Hills High School, before accepting a scholarship from the University of Southern California. He was a two-way player, on offense, he was a tackle until his senior season when he was moved to guard. He contributed to the team winning the 1953 Rose Bowl. He also practiced the shot put. Professional career Green Bay Packers Barry was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 30th round (355th overall) of the 1953 NFL Draft with a future draft pick, which allowed the team to draft him before his college eligibility was over. Fields (progressive Rock Band)
Fields was an English progressive rock band formed in 1971 by drummer Andrew McCulloch, keyboardist Graham Field, and bassist-vocalist Alan Barry. McCulloch had previously been a member of King Crimson, appearing on the band's third album ''Lizard''. Field founded Rare Bird in 1968 and departed in early 1971, and Barry was a former member of The Dowlands (aka The Dowland Brothers, 1962-1963) with the Giles brothers Peter and Michael who would eventually become members of King Crimson. Fields released one album, ''Fields'', in 1971, and one single from the album, "A Friend of Mine", in 1973. They did record a second album in 1972 with ex-Supertramp bassist-vocalist Frank Farrell replacing the departed Alan Barry, but the record was shelved by CBS and not initially released. The master tapes of this album were re-mastered and released as ''Contrasts: Urban Roar to Country Peace'' in 2015, with the full involvement of Graham Field. Italo Disco
Italo disco (variously capitalized, and sometimes hyphenated as Italo-disco) is a music genre which originated in Italy in the late 1970s and was mainly produced in the early 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current underground dance, pop, and electronic music, both domestic and foreign (American hi-NRG, French Euro disco) and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs electronic drums, drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders. It is usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent in Italian and Spanish. The origin of the genre's name is strongly tied to marketing efforts of the ZYX record label, which began licensing and marketing the music outside Italy in 1982. Italo disco faded in the early 1990s and then split into many genres (Eurobeat, Italo house, Italo dance). The SAIFAM Group is the biggest Italian record label and production company featuring hardstyle, Italo dance, Eurodance, Hi-NRG, pop and fitness music genres. History The outfit was started by Mauro Farina and Giuliano Crivellente, a production duo who produced more than 1,000 tracks, selling over ten million albums worldwide. In 1981, they created the Factory Sound Studio and the SAIFAM Group. The pair have been recognized as founders of HI-NRG, the genre in which they achieved their first gold records, thanks largely to localized translations of their songs in the Asian market. In the early 1990s, their hits included "What's Up" by DJ Miko, "Moments in Soul" by JT and the Big Family, and "Venus" by Don Pablo's Animals, which entered the European and American charts.
