Alain Bensoussan, born on 12 May 1940 in Tunis, is a French mathematician. He is Professor Emeritus at the Paris Dauphine University, University of Paris-Dauphine and Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Dallas. Biography Alain Bensoussan is a former student of the École Polytechnique, École polytechnique (X1960), a graduate of ENSAE ParisTech, ENSAE and a doctor of mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences in Paris (1969) under the supervision of Jacques-Louis Lions. He was a lecturer at the École polytechnique from 1970 to 1986 and a professor at the École normale supérieure (Paris), École normale supérieure from 1980 to 1985. He was Director of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management, Brussels from 1975 to 1977.
