Alaa Batayneh
Alaa Arif Batayneh ( ar, علاء عارف البطاينة; born 1969) is a Jordanian businessman and politician. He is also the son-in-law of Prince Hassan bin Talal. Early life and education Alaa Batayneh was born in Amman in 1969. His family, part of the Batayneh tribe, is from Irbid. His father, Arif Batayneh, is a former member of the parliament and former minister of health. He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering in 1991 and a master of science degree in management information systems in 1993, both from George Washington University. Career After graduation, Batayneh dealt with business until 2000 in different countries other than his native Jordan, including the United States and the United Kingdom. Abdullah II Of Jordan
Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein ( ar, عبدالله الثاني بن الحسين , translit=ʿAbd Allāh aṯ-ṯānī ibn al-Ḥusayn; born 30 January 1962) is King of Jordan, having ascended the throne on 7 February 1999. He is a member of the Hashemite dynasty, who have been the reigning royal family of Jordan since 1921, and is considered a 41st-generation direct descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Abdullah was born in Amman as the first child of King Hussein and his second wife, Princess Muna. As the king's eldest son, Abdullah was heir apparent until Hussein transferred the title to Abdullah's uncle, Prince Hassan, in 1965. Fayez Tarawneh
Fayez Tarawneh ( ar, فايز الطراونة; '; 1 May 1949 – 15 December 2021) was a Jordanian independent politician, who served twice as the 31st Prime Minister of Jordan, and also as Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court. Early life and education Tarawneh was born on 1 May 1949. He received a bachelor's degree in economy from the University of Jordan. He also obtained a master's degree in 1974 and a PhD in 1980 in economics, both from the University of Southern California. Career Tarawneh was Jordanian ambassador to the United States from 1993 until 1997, and headed the Jordanian delegation that was in charge of peace negotiations with Israel in 1994. Then he was appointed Prime Minister and served in this post from 20 August 1998 to 4 March 1999, the last Prime Minister under King Hussein, who died in February 1999.
