Alaa Al-Zahra
Alaa Abdul-Zahra Khashen Al-Azzawi ( ar, علاء عبدالزهرة خشَن العزاوي , born 22 December 1987 in Baghdad, Iraq), is an Iraqi football player who currently plays for Al-Shorta in the Iraqi Premier League. He is also a member of Iraq national team. He can be deployed as an attacking midfielder or a second striker, and since 2016 plays a striker. He is the third-most capped player in the history of the Iraq national team. Club career Early life Affectionately nicknamed 'the Kaká of Iraq' Alaa's road towards fame looked relatively straightforward. At the age of 16, he got his playing career off to a dream start when he was discovered and signed by Iraqi powerhouses Al-Zawraa. The Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز) is the top level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraq Division One. The league was formed by the IFA in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs First Division, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq. The current format sees 20 teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away), totalling 380 matches in the season. AFC Youth Championship 2006
The 2006 AFC Youth Championship was the 34th instance of the AFC Youth Championship. It was held from 29 October to 12 November 2006 in India. It was the first time for India to host this tournament. Sixteen teams from the AFC qualified to the finals. The tournament was won by North Korea, their second championship after sharing the trophy with Iran in 1976, defeating Japan 5–3 in a penalty shootout after extra time finished in a 1–1 draw. South Korea defeated Jordan 2–0 to finish third. The tournament also served as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, with a place for the 4 semi-finalists of the tournament. AFC Champions League
The AFC Champions League (abbreviated as ACL) is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation, and contested by Asia's top-division football clubs.
