Al Williams (basketball)
Alfred B. Williams (February 14, 1948 – July 2, 2007) was an American professional basketball player. A 6'6" forward from Peoria, Illinois, Williams played at Drake University from 1967 to 1970. He was a member of Drake's 1969 NCAA Final Four team, who lost to UCLA in the national semifinals. Williams graduated as his school's all-time best rebounder with a career average of 8.6 rebounds per game. From 1970 to 1971, Williams played professional basketball with the Kentucky Colonels of the American Basketball Association. He averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11 games. Al Williams was an American professional wrestler. He was a prominent competitor of the early television era of professional wrestling, appearing on national telecasts for Fred Kohler's NWA Chicago territory. He held several titles throughout his career and was a former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion and NWA World Tag Team Champion. Professional wrestling career Early career Williams began his career in 1933 in Chicago wrestling at the Northwest Arena for NWA Chicago. The following year, he wrestled throughout the American South for territories including NWA Tri-State in Arkansas, Harry Light Wrestling Office in Detroit and Al Haft Sports in Ohio. Albert Lynn Williams
Albert Lynn Williams (March 17, 1911 – 1982) was an American business executive who was president of IBM from May 1961 until March 1966. Born in Berwick, Pennsylvania, Williams attended Beckley College and became a Certified Public Accountant. He worked for IBM in sales positions from 1938 until 1942, when he was promoted to a position at IBM corporate headquarters in New York City. According to the IBM corporate website, Williams was elected IBM Controller in November 1942, IBM Treasurer in 1947, and Vice President and Treasurer in 1948. The IBM Board of Directors elected him a member in July 1951. In 1954, he was elected Executive President and, in May 1961, president of IBM. Williams became a member of the IBM Board's Executive and Finance Committee in 1956. Grumman F3F
The Grumman F3F was a biplane fighter aircraft produced by the Grumman aircraft for the United States Navy during the mid-1930s. Designed as an improvement on the F2F, it entered service in 1936 as the last biplane to be delivered to any American military air arm. It was retired from front line squadrons at the end of 1941 before it could serve in World War II, and replaced by the Brewster F2A Buffalo. The F3F, which inherited the Leroy Grumman-designed retractable main landing gear configuration first used on the Grumman FF, served as the basis for a biplane design ultimately developed into the much more successful F4F Wildcat that succeeded the subpar Buffalo. Alphonso "Al" Williams (born October 5, 1961) is a former American football wide receiver who played college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack, then played at a professional level in the USFL, NFL, and CFL. Professional career Williams was selected by the New Jersey Generals in the 18th round (364th overall) of the 1984 USFL Draft and the Detroit Lions in the 1st round (20th overall) of the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft. He ended up playing for the Oklahoma/Arizona Outlaws, while the Detroit Lions kept him on the practice squad. After the USFL folded and the Detroit Lions released him in 1986, Williams became a free agent. In 1987, Williams was picked up by the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints during preseason, then played in three games for the San Diego Chargers during the NFLPA strike.
