Al Tarsana Sports, Social & Cultural Club ( ar, نادي الترسانة الرياضي الثقافي الاجتماعي) or simply Al Tarsana Sports Club is a Libyan sports club based in Souq al Jum'aa, Tripoli, Libya. History The inhabitants of Tripoli began sporting activities, with football at the top of their list of popular activities, which they played in their local arenas and stadia. The popularity of football among the public, among other sports, meant they founded a youth club to compete more seriously (on a national level) in sports like boxing, where they won many national championships. Attersana was founded in 1954, with efforts from the youth of Souq Aljum'aa, on the east side of Tripoli, who decided they needed a club to combine their sporting talents, and also meet socially. GMR Stadium
The Great Manmade River Stadium (GMR or GMMR stadium) is a football stadium situated just a few metres away from the 11 June Stadium in the heart of Tripoli's sporting city. The stadium is named after the Great Manmade River. The stadium has a capacity of around 20,000 and is currently the home of Libyan Premier League clubs Al Wahda, Al Tersana and Alamn Alaam. The stadium was opened on 17 May 2000, and was celebrated with a friendly match between Middlesbrough F.C. and A.S. Bari. Mohamed Belouizdad
Mohamed Belouizdad ( ar, محمد بلوزداد; 3 November 1924, in Algiers – 14 January 1952, in Paris), was an Algerian militant and chief "responsible" (manager) of Special Organisation (OS), the military branch of the Algerian People's Party, (in French, Parti du Peuple Algerien) (PPA). Originating from Guenzet, a town and commune in Sétif Province in north-eastern Algeria, he was born in Belcourt, a quarter of Algiers to a family of five brothers and two sisters. Among his siblings was Dr. Mustapha Belouizdad, and Othmane Belouizdad, a member of CRUA and Sahnoun Belouizdad, a militant who died in prison of El Harrach succumbing to torture. ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. The issue of his succession caused a major rift between Muslims and divided them into Shia and Sunni groups. Samir Al Wahaj (born September 1, 1979) is a Libyan footballer, currently playing for Ahly Benghazi in the Libyan Premier League Career Samir is somewhat of a journeyman striker. He started his career at Ghawt Al Sha'al, before moving to Al Madina, where he won the Libyan Premier League in 2001. He then moved to Wefaq Sabratha, where he spent just over a year before he transferred to Al Urouba in July 2004. He won the Libyan Second Division with the club - season 2004-05 - and moved back to Tripoli to play for Al Wahda. He top scored in the Libyan Premier League for the 2005-06 season when he scored 18 goals. After interest from other clubs, he then moved to Akhdar prior to the 2006-07 season.
