Al Stewart
Alastair Ian Stewart (born 5 September 1945) is a Scottish born singer-songwriter and folk-rock musician who rose to prominence as part of the British folk revival in the 1960s and 1970s. He developed a unique style of combining folk-rock songs with delicately woven tales of characters and events from history. Stewart is best known for his 1976 hit single " Year of the Cat", from the platinum album of the same name. Though '' Year of the Cat'' and its 1978 platinum follow-up ''Time Passages'' brought Stewart his biggest worldwide commercial successes, earlier albums such as '' Past, Present and Future'' from 1973 are often seen as better examples of his intimate brand of historical folk-rock, a style to which he returned in later albums. Stewart is a key figure in British music and he appears throughout the musical folklore of the revivalist era. Alastair Stewart
Alastair James Stewart Order of the British Empire, OBE (born 22 June 1952) is an English former journalist and newscaster. Formerly presenting for ITV News, he joined GB News as a presenter in 2021. He has won the Royal Television Society's News Presenter of the Year award twice. Stewart joined Southern Television in 1976 then joined ITN in 1980 where he served three years with ''Channel 4 News'' and then went on to become a main newsreader with ITV News. He remained in this role for more than 35 years, making him the longest-serving male newsreader on British television, having worked in both local and national news for 44 years. In January 2020 he stepped down as an ITV News presenter. Early life Stewart was born in Emsworth, Hampshire to a Scottish father from Invergarry and an English mother. Alan "Al" Stewart (born 1959) is the National Director of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches in Australia. Education Stewart studied Commerce at the University of New South Wales. He worked in business for a time but later decided to go into Christian ministry. He trained at Moore Theological College. Theological career He was an assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney and oversaw the diocese's Wollongong region from 2007 until 2010. and served parishes in Tregear, New South Wales and Centennial Park. His last position before his ordination to the episcopate was as the CEO of Anglican Youthworks. In 2009, Stewart was appointed to the Evangelism Ministries in the Diocese of Sydney. Al Stewart (born September 5, 1983) is an American professional basketball player for the Moncton Magic of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). High school career Stewart attended Manley Academy in Chicago, Illinois, where he played basketball under head coach Bo Delaney. He was a teammate of future NBA player Luther Head. His playing time increased after Head left the team. Stewart was known for being a strong ball-handler and became Manley's top point guard heading into his senior season. As a senior, he averaged 16.2 points, 12.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds, winning all-sectional honors. Stewart also earned All-Chicago Public School accolades two times.
