Al-Rustaq Sports Football Club (Arabic: نادي الرستاق الرياضي لكرة القدم) is an Omani sports club based in Rustaq, Oman. Rustaq ( ar, ٱلرُّسْتَاق, Ar-Rustāq) is a town and ''Wilayah'' (District) in Al Batinah Region of northern Oman. The wilayah is in the Western Hajar Mountains, in the south of the Batinah. Rustaq was once the capital of Oman, during the era of Imam Nasir bin Murshid al Ya'arubi. Rustaq Fort, built four centuries prior to the 7th century CE, is an imposing structure built on three levels, containing separate houses, an armoury, a mosque and four towers. The tallest tower stands over high, and has a diameter of . The Al Hazm Castle is an outstanding example of Omani Islamic architecture and was built in 1711 AD. The fort's roof is built on columns, and contains no wooden supports. Its walls can withstand great impact, at no less than thick at any point. The Oman Professional League ( ar, دوري المحترفين عمان; known as the ''Omantel Professional League'' for sponsorship reasons), previously known as the Omantel Elite League, is the top division of the Oman Football Association, and was officially created in 1976. Currently the most successful team in the league is Dhofar with a total of eleven titles to their name. The Oman First Division League (known as the Omantel First Division League for sponsorship purposes) is the second-highest Association football league in Oman. Contested by 13 teams, the top 2 teams replace the bottom two in the Oman Professional League while the third-placed team has a play-off facing the third last-laced team in order to gain promotion. It is one of four divisions the Oman Football Association (Oman's main football governing body) encompasses, and has 12 teams while the Second Division and Third Division have 13 and 20 clubs each. The 2015-16 Oman First Division League (known as the ''Omantel First Division League'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 40th edition of the second-highest division overall football league in Oman. The season began on 1 October 2015 and concluded on 22 April 2016. Muscat Club are the defending champions, having won their first title in the previous 2014–15 season. Musab Hamed Mohammed Al Mor Al-Mamari ( ar, مصعب المعمري; born 22 January 2000) is an Omani professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Al-Nasr SC and the Oman national team.
