Kazma Sporting Club ( ar, نادي كاظمة الرياضي) is a Kuwaiti professional association football club. Founded in 1964, the club competes in the Kuwaiti Premier League. Club history Naming The club is named after the area of Kathma. In 630 A.D., the battle of 'That Alslasil' took place in Kathma, which is located forty kilometers north of Kuwait City on the coast of Kuwait. Recent history On 21 December 2009, under head coach Ilie Balaci, Kazma played a friendly match against reigning La Liga champions FC Barcelona to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the club. The match ended with 1–1 draw and Barcelona received €1.7 million to participate in the match. Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium
The Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Adiliya Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches. The stadium holds 21,500. It is the 2nd largest stadium in Kuwait. The Stadium hosted many finals for the Kuwait Emir Cup and Kuwait Crown Cup. In addition, 2 Arabian Gulf Cup Tournaments were held in this Stadium, the first taking place in 1990 where Kuwait national football team, Kuwait won the 10th Arabian Gulf Cup trophy, and the second in 16th Arabian Gulf Cup, 2003, where they finished 6th. This stadium is the home ground for Kazma Sporting Club, Kazma. The GCC Champions League ( ar, دوري أبطال الخليج للأندية), formerly known as the Gulf Cup for Clubs ( ar, كأس الخليج للأندية), was an annually organized football league tournament for clubs of the Arabian peninsula. The tournament was first organized in 1982 and was last played in 2015, the 31st edition. Attempts to play the 2016 and 2017 editions failed. Kuwait National Football Team
The Kuwait national football team ( ar, منتخب الكويت لكرة القدم) is the national team of Kuwait and is controlled by the Kuwait Football Association. Kuwait made one World Cup finals appearance, in 1982, managing one point in the group stages. In the Asian Cup, Kuwait reached the final in 1976 and won the tournament in 1980. Kuwait's 20–0 win over Bhutan in 2000 was at the time the biggest ever victory in international football. It was surpassed in 2001, when Australia beat American Samoa 31–0. While Kuwait was one of Asia's major football force during 1970s to 2000s, the strength of the national team has started to fade slowly from 2010s, with Kuwait failing in two consecutive Asian Cups in 2011 and 2015, before being disqualified for 2019 edition and missing out on 2023 AFC Asian Cup. 1990 Gulf Cup Of Nations
The 10th Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, كأس الخليج العربي) was held in Kuwait, between 21 February to 9 March 1990. All matches were played at Peace & Friendship Stadium. Saudi Arabia withdrew before the tournament, as they considered that the horses in the competition logo were a reference to two animals used by the Kuwaitis in the Battle of Jahra in 1920. Iraq also withdrew while the tournament was still running, complaining about the referee on their tie with the UAE.
