Al Dempsey
Al Dempsey is an American author of historical fiction. Tim Kyle Dempsey's spy series "Pulsar" (co-written with Robin Moore), contains the books ''The London Connection'' and ''The Italian Connection''. They feature the main character Tim Kyle, the lead agent for the security corporation Pulsar International. Kyle is notable among spy novel protagonists for being happily married with children and relying largely on his "computer-like" brain to solve cases. Robin Moore
Robert Lowell Moore Jr. (October 31, 1925 – February 21, 2008) was an American writer who wrote '' The Green Berets'', '' The French Connection: A True Account of Cops, Narcotics, and International Conspiracy'', and with Xaviera Hollander and Yvonne Dunleavy, '' The Happy Hooker: My Own Story''. Moore co-authored the lyrics for the " Ballad of the Green Berets", which was one of the major hit songs of 1966. The song was featured in the 1968 film '' The Green Berets'', based on Moore's book, which starred John Wayne. A new edition of ''The Green Berets'' was published in April 2007, and his last book, ''Wars of the Green Berets'', co-authored with Col. Mike 'Doc' Lennon, was released in June 2007. Moore was convicted of tax fraud in 1986. The Copper Kings were the three industrialists Marcus Daly, William A. Clark, and F. Augustus Heinze. They were known for the epic battles fought in Butte, Montana, and the surrounding region, during the Gilded Age, over control of the local copper mining industry, the fight that had ramifications for not only Montana, but the United States as a whole. Henry Plumber
Henry Plummer (1832–1864) was a prospector, lawman, and outlaw in the American West in the 1850s and 1860s, who was known to have killed several men. He was elected sheriff of Bannack, Montana, in 1863 and served until 1864, during which period he was accused of being the leader of a " road agent" gang of outlaws known as the " Innocents," who preyed on shipments from Virginia City, Montana to other areas. In response some leaders in Virginia City formed the Vigilance Committee of Alder Gulch and began to take action against Plummer's gang, gaining confessions from a couple of men they arrested in early January 1864. On January 10, 1864, Plummer and two associates were arrested in Bannack by a company of the Vigilantes and summarily hanged. Plummer was given a posthumous trial in 1993 which led to a mistrial.
