Al Del Greco
Albert Louis Del Greco (born March 2, 1962) is a former American football placekicker and a current sports radio personality. After eight years as golf coach at Spain Park High School in Hoover, Alabama, Del Greco was named the head coach of the men's golf team at Samford University on May 2, 2014. Biography Del Greco finished his 17 NFL seasons with 347 of 449 (77%) field goals and 551 of 554 (99.46%) extra points, giving him a total of 1,592 points. As of 2018, he's ranked 21st on the NFL's list of all-time leading scorers. He was inducted in the Alabama Hall of Fame. He was nicknamed "Automatic Al". For his popularity in fantasy football leagues, some fans consider him to be the greatest kicker in history. A four-year letterman at Auburn, Del Greco completed 110 out of 111 PATs in his college career. Providence, Rhode Island
Providence is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. The 1984 NFL season was the 65th regular season of the National Football League. The Colts relocated from Baltimore, Maryland to Indianapolis, Indiana before the season. Field Goal (American And Canadian Football)
A field goal (FG) is a means of scoring in gridiron football. To score a field goal, the team in possession of the ball must place kick, or drop kick, the ball through the goal, i.e., between the uprights and over the crossbar. The entire ball must pass through the vertical plane of the goal, which is the area above the crossbar and between the uprights or, if above the uprights, between their outside edges. Jay Barker
Jay Barker (born Harry Jerome Barker on July 20, 1972) is a retired professional American football quarterback. He is currently a Birmingham radio personality. Football career Barker attended Hewitt-Trussville High School in Trussville, Alabama, where his football career began. He graduated in 1990. Barker played college football at the University of Alabama, under head coach Gene Stallings. In the final game of the 1992 season, Barker led the Crimson Tide to a national championship by defeating the #1 Miami Hurricanes, 34–13, in the 1993 Sugar Bowl. WJOX (AM)
WJOX (690 kHz, "Jox 3") is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Birmingham, Alabama. It is owned by Cumulus Media and broadcasts a sports radio format. WJOX is the Birmingham affiliate of the UAB Blazers Radio Network (baseball only), the Tennessee Titans Radio Network and the Atlanta Braves Radio Network. It used to be the broadcast home of the Birmingham Barons. The station has studios and offices in Homewood. By day, WJOX broadcasts at 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM stations. Birmingham Steeldogs
The Alabama Steeldogs, originally known as the Birmingham Steeldogs, were incorporated in 2000 as one of the charter teams in the AF2, the developmental league of the Arena Football League. Entering their eighth season as of 2007, they were the longest running of many professional football franchises in the city of Birmingham. Management announced that it would not field a team in 2008 but had hopes of returning in 2009. But the team's front office has since been dissolved, and with no announcements of further plans, the team is defunct.
