Al Clark (film Editor)
Al Clark (September 15, 1902 – July 13, 1971) was a prolific American film editor whose career spanned four decades, most of which was spent at Columbia Pictures. He was nominated for 5 Academy Awards and 1 Emmy during his career. He is credited with editing over 120 films, and towards the end of his career, in the 1960s, he also edited several television series. Career Clark began his career in 1933 at the Poverty Row studio, Tower Productions. The first film he worked on was the crime drama, ''The Important Witness''. In 1934 he would begin his long association with Columbia Pictures, on Lambert Hillyer's crime drama, '' Men of the Night''. His work on the 1937 screwball comedy, ''The Awful Truth'', starring Irene Dunne and Cary Grant, earned him the first of his five Academy Award for Best Film Editing nominations. James Stewart
James Maitland Stewart (May 20, 1908 – July 2, 1997) was an American actor and military pilot. Known for his distinctive drawl and everyman screen persona, Stewart's film career spanned 80 films from 1935 to 1991. With the strong morality he portrayed both on and off the screen, he epitomized the "American ideal" in the mid-twentieth century. ''Pepe'' is a 1960 American musical comedy film starring Cantinflas in the title role, directed by George Sidney. The film contained a multitude of cameo appearances, attempting to replicate the success of Cantiflas' American debut ''Around the World in 80 Days''. The film received generally unfavorable reviews from critics and failed to match the box-office success of his previous American film. ''Gigi'' () is a 1958 American musical romantic comedy film directed by Vincente Minnelli and processed using Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Eastmancolor film process Metrocolor. The screenplay by Alan Jay Lerner is based on the 1944 novella of the same name by Colette. The film features songs with lyrics by Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, arranged and conducted by André Previn. Costume design by Cecil Beaton (hats by ). Adrienne Fazan
Adrienne Fazan (May 9, 1906 – August 23, 1986) was an award-winning American film editor who first started cutting films in 1933. She worked on many MGM films, including ''The Tell-Tale Heart'' (1941), ''Anchors Aweigh'' (1945), '' Singin' in the Rain'' (1952), and '' Kismet'' (1955). Biography Fazan was born in Germany, to John Fazan and Magdalena Fremdling. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1923, and by 1930 was living in Los Angeles and working as a film editor at a studio. Career Adrienne Fazan started cutting and editing in films in 1933 and then she went to work at MGM, who were known for hiring the most qualified and talented people. John Uhler Lemmon III (February 8, 1925 – June 27, 2001) was an American actor.
