Al Ain Football Club ( ar, نادي العين لكرة القدم; transliterated: Nady al-'Ayn), known simply as Al Ain, is a professional football club based in the city of Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is one of many sport sections of the multi-sports club Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club ( ar, نادي العين الرياضي الثقافي). The club was founded in 1968 by players from Al Ain, members of a Bahraini group of exchange students and the Sudanese community working in the United Arab Emirates. The team quickly gained popularity and recognition throughout the country, being the team with the most trophies (35 in total). Al Ain is by far the most successful club in the UAE. The Hazza bin Zayed Stadium ( ar, اِسْتَاد هَزَّاع بِن زَايِد, Istād Hazzāʿ Bin Zāyid) is a multi-purpose stadium, located in the City of Al Ain, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is the home stadium of Al Ain FC of the UAE Pro-League. The stadium holds 22,717 spectators and opened in 2014. The stadium was named after the chairman of the club, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Hazza bin Zayed stadium is split over seven levels, and is one of the most modern sporting venues in the Middle East. It is one of the most sophisticated sports venues in the region. Gulf Club Champions Cup
The GCC Champions League ( ar, دوري أبطال الخليج للأندية), formerly known as the Gulf Cup for Clubs ( ar, كأس الخليج للأندية), was an annually organized football league tournament for clubs of the Arabian peninsula. The tournament was first organized in 1982 and was last played in 2015, the 31st edition. Attempts to play the 2016 and 2017 editions failed. Bengt Erik Markus Berg (; born 17 August 1986) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Allsvenskan club IFK Göteborg, which he captains. Hussein Ali Elshahat Ali Hassan ( arz, حسين علي الشحات علي حسن, born 21 June 1992) is an Egyptian footballer who plays for Al Ahly as a winger, he can also play as an attacking midfielder. Caio Lucas Fernandes (born 19 April 1994), known as Caio Lucas or just Caio , is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Emirati Club Sharjah. Ismail Ahmed Ismail Mohammed ( ar, إسماعيل أحمد إسماعيل محمد; born 7 July 1983), known by his patronymic Ismail Ahmed, is a former footballer who played as a centre-back. Born in Morocco, he represented the United Arab Emirates at international level. Personal life Ismail Ahmed was born in Temara, Morocco, but moved to Yemen and Bahrain as a teenager to venture for his football passion. He was persuaded to play for the Bahraini national team, but rejected the offer to return to Morocco in order to play for his country's national side and league giants Raja Casablanca so he could head to Europe, but an injury ruined his career while the likes of Nordin Amrabat, Ayoub El Kaabi and Achraf Bencharki flourished.
