Al Ahly Tennis Table Club ( ar, النادي الاهلي للتنس الطاولة, often referred to as) is one of Al Ahly SC club's sections that represent the club in Egypt and international Table tennis competitions, the club team section based in Cairo. History - Table tennis was first played in AlAhly in 1939. Dina Alaa Meshref (Egyptian: دينا علاء مشرف; born 10 March 1994 in Quebec City) is an Egyptian table tennis player who is currently world rank number 28 in ITTF, she is African number 1 table tennis player. She represented Egypt in the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2016 Summer Olympics, and 2020 Summer Olympics.. She attended Futures American School and Roots School and had graduated from the American University in Cairo. Meshref comes from a family of table tennis players. Both her parents were national champions. She won her first African Cup title in 2011 before claiming seven consecutive titles between 2014 and 2020. She won her latest African title in September 2022, climbing 21 spots in the table tennis world ranking to reach the rank of 29. Port Said Stadium Riot
On 1 February 2012, a massive riot occurred at Port Said Stadium in Port Said, Egypt, following an Egyptian Premier League football match between Masry and Ahly. Seventy-four people were killed and more than 500 were injured after thousands of Al Masry fans stormed the stadium stands and the pitch following a 3–1 victory by their club, and violently attacked Ahly fans using clubs, stones, machetes, knives, bottles and fireworks, trapping them inside the El Ahly partition of the stadium. Many of the deaths were due to police refusal to open the stadium gates, trapping the Ahly fans inside, leaving some to die, and killing others in a stampede while trying to escape. Civil unrest and severe clashes continued until 11 February, but general strikes ended on 13 February. Riots erupted in Cairo, Alexandria, and Suez. Al Ahly is an Egyptian basketball club, located in Cairo, Cairo Governorate, that plays in the Egypt Basketball Super League. Al Ahly Volleyball Club ( ar, النادي الاهلي للكرة الطائرة), also called "The Masters" ( ar, الماسترز) is one of Al Ahly SC club's sections that represent the club in Egypt and in international volleyball competitions. The club team section has been based in Cairo since 1932. Al Ahly volleyball team can be considered the greatest team in Africa and the Middle East. It has played in the Egyptian Volleyball League without interruption since 1957. Al Ahly is the most titled club in the Egyptian Volleyball league with 33 titles.
