Al Aflaj Governorate
Al-Aflaj Governorate is one of the 22 governorates of Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia, and its base is Layla city. Al-Aflaj is located more than 300 km away from the capital Riyadh, it has a number of agricultural villages on the mountain of Tuwayq (formerly Al-Arida mountain) from its eastern foot to the western edge. Riyadh Region
The Riyadh Province ( '), is a province of Saudi Arabia, located in the geographic center of the country and the center of the Arabian Peninsula. It has an area of and with a 2022 population of 8,591,748, it is the second-largest region by area, behind the Eastern Province and the largest by population. The capital governorate of the province is the Riyadh Governorate and it is named after the capital of the kingdom, Riyadh, which is the most populous city in the region and the kingdom, with a little less than two-thirds of the population of the region residing within the city. Layla (town)
Layla () is a town in central Saudi Arabia. It is the principal town of the Al-Aflaj oasis in Riyadh Region, some 330 km south of the capital, Riyadh. It is believed to have been named after Layla of Bani 'Amir, a 7th-century woman from the local tribe who was immortalized in the poetry of her lover Qays ibn al-Mulawwah, Qays ibn Al-Mulawwah. The romance of Qays and Layla is among the most famous romances of Arabic literature. Several tribes have governed the town across two millennia, including tribes of Kaab ibn 'Amir, then 'Uqayl ibn 'Amir and Alshathri. The population of the town and its surrounding villages and hamlets is nearly 76,000, largely consisting of settled Bedouins from the Dawasir tribe. Tuwaiq
Jabal Tuwaiq (, Tuwaiq Mountain) is a narrow escarpment that cuts through the plateau of Najd in central Arabia, running approximately from the southern border of Al-Qasim in the north, to the northern edge of the Rub' al Khali desert near Wadi ad-Dawasir in the south. It is high and also has a Middle Jurassic stratigraphic section. The eastern side slopes downwards gradually, while the western side ends in an abrupt manner. The escarpment can be thought of as a narrow plateau, though the locals refer to it as a ''jebel'' ("mount"). 'Asir Region
Asir, officially the Aseer Province, is a province of Saudi Arabia in southern Arabia. It has an area of , and an estimated population of 2,024,285 (in 2022). Asir is bounded by the Mecca Province to the north and west, al-Bahah Province to the northwest, Riyadh Province to the northeast, Najran Province to the southeast, Jazan Province and the Saada Governorate of Yemen to the south. Abha is the provincial capital, and other towns include Khamis Mushait, Bisha and Bareq. Hotat Bani Tamim
Hotat Bani Tamim () is a Saudi Arabian town, adjacent to Riyadh. Its population is about 40,000. Most of the residents are no longer from the Tamimi tribe. Hotat Bani Tamim is located 135 km south of Riyadh's southern ring road, and slightly northeast of the Ibex Reserve Protected Area. Al-H̨arīq or Al Hareeq () is a small town in Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia. It is located by road south of Riyadh. As of the 2004 census it had a population of 7304 people. Al Sulayyil () or As Sulayyil is a village in Ar Riyad Province, Saudi Arabia. The city is located about 575 km South of Riyadh city proper and 80 km North-East of Wadi ad-Dawasir, another relatively larger city. It has a size of about 25 square kilometers and a population of nearly 26,000. The landscape is that of typical desert and climate is extremely arid. The summer temperature between mid-June to mid-August may reach up to 50 degrees Celsius.
