Al Shahaniya Sports Club ( ar, نادي الشحانية الرياضي), is a Qatari sports club based in Al-Shahaniya, a town 20 km from the capital Doha. Founded in 1998, the most prominent team of the club is the football team which plays in the Qatari Second Division. The club's home ground is Grand Hamad Stadium. History Al Shahaniya was founded on 27 December 1998, under the name Al-Nasr, under the decision of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Eid Al Thani, who was then the chairman of the Public Authority for youth and sports at that time. At the beginning of its establishment, the club's headquarters were located in Al Jemailiya. In 2001, the club relocated to Al-Shahaniya, which is approximately 20 km northwest of Doha, under the decision of Sheikh Jassim bin Thamer al Thani, who was vice president of the Qatar Olympic Committee at that time. Grand Hamad Stadium
The Grand Hamad Stadium ( ar, استاد حمد الكبير), also known as the Al–Arabi Sports Club Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Doha, Qatar. The stadium holds 13,000 people, and is currently used mostly for football matches, as it is Al-Arabi SC's home ground. The stadium was used extensively during the 2006 Asian Games, and was a venue for several different sports, including football, table tennis, rugby sevens, and fencing. The Iraq national football team played their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) matches at the stadium, as did the Yemen national football team in their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) matches. Seyed Ashkan Dejagah ( fa, سید اشكان دژآگه, born 5 July 1986), known as Ashkan Dejagah, is an Iranian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Persian Gulf Pro League club Foolad. He represented Germany at youth levels between 2001 and 2009, going on to win the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship. Milton Mendes (born 25 April 1965) is a Brazilian football coach and a former player who played mainly as a right back. He is the manager of Retrô. He spent the better part of his 18-year professional career in Portugal, representing nine and amassing Primeira Liga totals of 87 games and three goals over the course of five seasons. Yousuf Adam Mahmoud or Yousef Adam ( ar, يوسف آدم محمود; born 12 September 1972) is a Qatari- Somali former football player and manager. He is the first Qatari football manager to have coached in Africa. He also competed in the men's tournament at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Managerial career In 2010, Adam coached Mesaimeer SC in the Qatargas League. Later in 2010, he coached both the Somalia national team and the Somalia Olympic team. While in charge of Somalia, the team participated in the 2010 CECAFA Cup. With an average squad age of 20, Somalia lost all of its group stage matches, including 0–6 against Zambia. Adam was unveiled as the new coach of lower-tier club Al Shahaniya in February 2013. He was named as El Jaish's new head coach on 15 January 2014.
