Al-Hajaj is a town in Baiji District, Salah ad Din Governorate, Iraq Iraq,; ku, عێراق, translit=Êraq officially the Republic of Iraq, '; ku, کۆماری عێراق, translit=Komarî Êraq is a country in Western Asia. It is bordered by Turkey to Iraq–Turkey border, the north, Iran to Iran–Iraq ....The town, with an estimated population in 2002 of about 65,000 is the one of the important cities of Salah ad Din Governorate. Most of the people who live in the city are governmental employees and farmers. Attacks On January 21, 2008 a suicide bomber killed 18 and wounded 22 in a funeral tent. Salah Ad Din Governorate
The Saladin or Salah Al-Din Governorate ( ar, محافظة صلاح الدين) is one of Iraq's 19 governorates, north of Baghdad. It has an area of , with an estimated population of 1,042,200 people in 2003. It is made up of 8 districts, with the capital being Tikrit. Before 1976 the province was part of Baghdad Governorate. The province is named after Muslim leader Saladin or Salah ad Din, who hailed from the province. The province is also known as the home of Saddam Hussein, who was from the village of Al-Awja. Overview Saladin Governorate contains a number of important religious and cultural sites.
