Al Ubaidi
Al Ubaidi (or Al Obaidi) is a town in the Al Anbar Governorate of Iraq. It is an Iraqi city situated along the south side of Euphrates River near the Syrian border. It is a subdistrict of Al Qa'im and contains both New Ubaydi and Old Ubaydi as well as a number of smaller villages that stretch down the Euphrates to the east. During the Iraq War, the city was patrolled by United States Marines, and was the location of a forward operating base, a US military base, as well as several battle positions. Following Operation Steel Curtain, in which US Marines and Iraqi Army units swept the city of insurgents, the streets were secured by a combination of Iraqi Army and Marine forces. Al Anbar Governorate
Al Anbar Governorate ( ar, محافظة الأنبار; ''muḥāfaẓat al-’Anbār''), or Anbar Province, is the largest governorate in Iraq by area. Encompassing much of the country's western territory, it shares borders with Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The population is mostly Sunni Muslims. The provincial capital is Ramadi; other important cities include Fallujah and Al-Qa'im. 2001–02 Iraq FA Cup
The 2001–02 Iraq FA Cup was the 24th edition of the Iraq FA Cup as a clubs-only competition. The tournament was won by Al-Talaba for the first time in their history, after losing in the final six previous times. They beat Al-Shorta 1–0 in the final, preventing Al-Shorta from completing the cup double. Al-Talaba also won the 2001–02 Iraqi Elite League to complete their first ever double. The 2021–22 Iraq FA Cup is the 33rd edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring a record 168 clubs from the top four tiers of the Iraqi football league system, (20 from the Iraqi Premier League, 24 from the Iraq Division One and 124 from the Iraq Division Two and Iraq Division Three). The competition began on 10 September 2021 with the first-round matches involving teams from the third and fourth tiers, and will conclude in 2022 with the final at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the defending champions, having beaten Al-Zawraa on penalties in the final of the previous edition.
