Al-A'amiriya
Al-A'amiriya (Arabic العامرية) is a neighborhood in the Mansour district of western Baghdad, Iraq, on the way to Anbar Province. The name is also written Amariya, Amariyah, Ameria, Ameriya, Amerya, Amiriya and Amiriyah. It used to be an upper-class neighbourhood until sectarian war in 2006. Under ISIS rule, many rurals was displaced from Anbar to Al-A'amiriya, which resulted in even more demographic change. Amiriyah Shelter Bombing
The Amiriyah shelter bombing was an aerial bombing attack that killed at least 408 civilians on 13 February 1991 during the Persian Gulf War, when an air-raid shelter ("Public Shelter No. 25") in the Amiriyah neighborhood of Baghdad, Iraq, was destroyed by the U.S. Air Force with two GBU-27 Paveway III laser-guided "smart bombs". The United States was responsible for the decision to target the Amiriyah shelter. Mansour District
Al Mansour ( ar, المنصور) is one of the nine administrative districts in Baghdad, Iraq. It is in western Baghdad and is bounded on the east by Karkh district in central Baghdad, to the north by Kadhimiya, to the west by Baghdad International Airport, and to the south by Baghdad Airport Road, on the other side of which is Al Rashid district. Description Al Mansour is named after Abu Ja'far al-Mansur, the second Abbasid Caliph and founder of Baghdad. Mansour was traditionally an affluent area where wealthy Arab families lived. Baghdad Governorate ( ar, محافظة بغداد ''Muḥāfaẓät Baġdād''), also known as the Baghdad Province, is the capital governorate of Iraq. Al Anbar Governorate
Al Anbar Governorate ( ar, محافظة الأنبار; ''muḥāfaẓat al-’Anbār''), or Anbar Province, is the largest governorate in Iraq by area. Encompassing much of the country's western territory, it shares borders with Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The population is mostly Sunni Muslims. The provincial capital is Ramadi; other important cities include Fallujah and Al-Qa'im.
