Akın Öngör
Akın Öngör (born 1945) is a Turkish former chief executive officer of Garanti Bank.http://www.jcizmir.org/duyurular.php?id=26 Early life and education He was born in 1945. He graduated from TED and then Middle East Technical University. In the college years, he played basketball as a guard. He studied business administration at METU and then started his career as a marketing expert. After working in different industries for 13 years, he joined Garanti as one of the vice presidents, responsible for marketing again. In 1991, the owner of the bank ( Ayhan Şahenk) offered the position of chief executive officer to Öngör. He ran the company for a decade. Garanti experienced a tough and quite successful metamorphosis process in his period. When Öngör became chief executive officer, Garanti's total market value was around $150 million. And after ten years work, the value had increased to US$5 billion and Garanti was chosen as "The Best Bank on Earth" by Euromoney. The change ...

Ayhan Şahenk
Ayhan Şahenk (11 June 1929 – 1 April 2001) was a Turkish businessman and founder of the Doğuş Group. Father of the current chairman of Dogus Holding Ferit Şahenk Ferit Şahenk (, born 1964) is the Chairman of Turkey's Doğuş Group and one of the richest people in Turkey. Background Şahenk graduated from The American School in Switzerland (TASIS) and earned his B.A. from Boston College with a degree in .... Founded Doğuş Holding in 1950. Through his leadership company invested in the fields of construction, banking, communication, tourism, food and automotive. In 1992 he established a non-profit organization under his name, which focused on improvement on education. Şahenk died on April 1, 2001 due to a heart attack.
