Akshay Mall
Akshay Vilmal Kumar Mall (born 30 September 1992) is an Indian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Air India FC in the I-League. Career Early Career and Pailan Arrows Mall started playing football from the early age of six in his home state of Gujarat. In 2006 Mall represented his state in the Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy. Then in 2007 Mall participated in the Kanga Cup which is a tournament based in Canberra, Australia for his club Providence FC who are based in Vadodara in his home state of Gujarat in which after the tournament he was adjudged the Player of the Tournament for under-15 players. In 2010 Mall rejected the chance to sign for Indian football giants East Bengal F.C. due to the "politics at the club" and instead decided to sign with the Pailan Arrows (then AIFF XI) who were a starter club in the I-League created by the All India Football Federation so young footballers can gain regular time in India's top league. Air India Football Club is an Indian professional football club, founded by Anand Prajapati in 1952, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. They are sponsored by Air India, and have enjoyed some success in the MDFA Elite League. They have also competed in the I-League, then top tier of Indian football league system. Four times champions in the local league in Mumbai, Air India are best known for nurturing youngsters into big time players. I-League Players
The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. The league was launched as India's first ever top-tier professional football league with the aim to increase the player pool for the India national team. 2012–13 I-League
The 2012–13 I-League was the sixth season of the I-League, the Indian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 6 October 2012 and finished on 12 May 2013 with Churchill Brothers crowned champions in matchday 25. Dempo S.C., Dempo were the defending champions, having won their third I-League title the 2011–12 I-League, previous season. On 29 December 2012, Mohun Bagan were barred from competing in the I-League for 2 years following a decision taken by the I League core committee. This was because they failed to turn up in the second half of the match against East Bengal F.C., East Bengal because of crowd trouble. Micky Fernandes
Micky Fernandes (born 20 August 1983) is a retired Indian footballer who played as a midfielder, and is the current manager of Goa Professional League side Vasco SC. Career Fernandes started his professional career with Salgaocar of the National Football League in 2003 and stayed at the club till 2007. From Salgaocar, Fernandes joined Sporting Clube de Goa where he stayed till 2009. From there he joined Mohun Bagan where he only stayed at for one season before joining Dempo S.C. in 2010 on a two-year contract.
