Akite Agnes
Akite Agnes (born 19 March 1983) is a Ugandan stand-up comedian, actress, MC, and philanthropist. She is popularly known for her role as Arach in the series ''The Hostel''. She has also acted in Pearl Magic's ''Girl from Mparo'' as Mama Brian, the nosy neighbour. Her style of comedy reflects on the daily issues that people face as they go about their lives. Early life and education Agnes was born on 19 March 1983 in Kampala, Uganda, to Anthony Opio, an auditor, and Hellen Opio. She is the fifth of nine children. She grew up in Kitintale and later in Mutungo, suburbs of Kampala. She was raised a Catholic and went to St. Kizito Primary School, Bugolobi, where she did her Primary Leaving Examinations, and later to Our lady of Good Counsel, Gayaza, where she completed her secondary education. Kampala
Kampala (, ) is the capital and largest city of Uganda. Mbarara
Mbarara City is a city in the Western Region of Uganda and the second largest city in Uganda after Kampala. Uganda Broadcasting Corporation
Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) is the public broadcaster network of Uganda. It was founded as a result of the "Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act, 2004", which merged the operations of Uganda Television (UTV) and Radio Uganda. It started broadcasting on November 16, 2005. The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act stated that the UBC should be funded by the levying of a television licence fee. Collection of a licence fee set at USh (around €8.40 or US$10.80) started in 2005. However, collection was subsequently halted by President Yoweri Museveni. There has since been pressure to reinstate the licence fee to maintain UBC's independence. UBC operates the UBC TV channel and five radio stations. NTV (Kenya)
NTV is a Kenyan general entertainment channel. The channel began operating on April 4, 2005, and is a revamp from the previous Nation TV station under the Nation Media Group arm that has been in existence since 1999. It is a popular TV Station in Kenya along with Citizen TV, Kenya Television Network, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation among other Kenyan broadcasting channels. Youtube In September 2007, NTV went online with its content on YouTube. Within the first month it received over 325,000 views, three honors, and an average of 4,000 views for every video uploaded. In mid-2012, NTV went live on YouTube. Observational Comedy
Observational comedy is a form of humor based on the commonplace aspects of everyday life. It is one of the main types of humor in stand-up comedy. In an observational comedy act, the comedian makes an observation about something which is common enough to be familiar to their audience, but not commonly discussed. Such observations are typically presented with the phrase "Have you ever noticed...?" or "Did you ever notice...?" which has become a comedy cliché.
