Akiko (film)
''Akiko'' is a 1961 Italian comedy film written and directed by Luigi Filippo D'Amico. Plot In Rome, Mrs. Ottavia Colasanto has not had news of her husband since he went to Japan eighteen years ago. She is considered practically a widow. One day, a very beautiful young Japanese girl arrives. She notifies the Colasanto family that she is the biological daughter of Ottavia's (presumably) deceased husband. Andrea Checchi (21 October 1916 – 29 March 1974) was a prolific Italian film actor. Biography Born in Florence, Checchi appeared in over 150 films in his lengthy career, which spanned from 1934 to his death in 1974. The son of a painter, he studied painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. Moved to Rome, he attended the acting course held by Alessandro Blasetti who gave him a small role in '' 1860''. After graduating at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, he had his first role of weight in the 1940 historical drama film '' L'assedio dell'Alcazar'' by Augusto Genina. Paolo Ferrari (actor)
Paolo Ferrari (26 February 1929 – 6 May 2018) was an Italian actor, voice actor and television presenter. Biography Ferrari was born in Brussels as his father was at the time the Italian consul in the Belgian Congo, and was in Belgium for a diplomatic mission. His mother, Giulietta, was a concert pianist. He made his acting debut at 9 years old, in Alessandro Blasetti's ''Ettore Fieramosca'' and he appeared in over 45 films between 1938 and 2018. He became first known as "the balilla Paolo", a character he played in numerous radio programs for children and teenagers during the fascist era. After the war he studied at the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts. Ferrari died in Rome on 6 May 2018, at the age of 89. Giacomo Furia
Giacomo Matteo Furia (2 January 1925 – 5 June 2015) was an Italian film, television and stage actor. He appeared in more than 130 films between 1948 and 1998. Life and career Born in Arienzo, near Caserta, Furia started his acting career thanks to Eduardo De Filippo, he had met through an after-school summer job; he made his professional debut on stage in 1945, in De Filippo's "Napoli milionaria". He made his film debut three years later, in Mario Mattoli's '' Assunta Spina''; mainly cast in character roles, he was often a sidekick of Totò, notably landing a major role in ''The Band of Honest Men''. His credits include films directed by Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini and Francesco Rosi. In 1997 Furia released an autobiography written in collaboration with Michele Avitabile, ''Le maggiorate, il principe e l'ultimo degli onesti''. He died on 5 June 2015, aged 90.
