Akershus (constituency)
Akershus is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. It consists of the municipalities of Ås, Asker, Aurskog-Høland, Bærum, Eidsvoll, Enebakk, Frogn, Gjerdrum, Hurdal, Lillestrøm, Lørenskog, Lunner, Nannestad, Nes, Nesodden, Nittedal, Nordre Follo, Rælingen, Ullensaker and Vestby in the county of Viken. The constituency currently elects 18 of the 169 members of the Storting using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2021 parliamentary election it had 471,106 registered electors. Storting
The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative". The assembly is led by a president and, since 2009, five vice presidents: the presidium. The members are allocated to twelve standing committees as well as four procedural committees. Nittedal
Nittedal is a municipality and city in Akershus in Viken county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rotnes. The parish of ''Nitedal'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Name The name (Old Norse: ''Nitjudalr'') is an old district name. The first element is the genitive case of the river name ''Nitja'' (now Nitelva) and the last element is ''dalr'' which means "valley" or "dale". The meaning of the river name is unknown. Une Aina Bastholm
Une Aina Bastholm (born 14 January 1986) is a Norwegian politician and former leader of Green Party. She represented Oslo in the Storting from 2017 to 2021 and during this time was the only member of her party with a parliamentary seat. Åsmund Grøver Aukrust (born 28 February 1985) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He is member of Parliament from Akershus county, first elected at the Norwegian parliament election in 2013. He was the deputy leader of the Workers' Youth League (AUF) from 2010 to 2014. Viken (county)
Viken is a county under disestablishment in Eastern Norway that was established on 1 January 2020 by the merger of Akershus, Buskerud and Østfold with the addition of three other municipalities. Viken was controversial from the onset, with an approval rating of about 20% in the region, and the merger was resisted by all the three counties. Viken has been compared to gerrymandering. The county executive of Viken determined in 2019, before the merger had taken effect, that the county's disestablishment is its main political goal, and the formal process to dissolve Viken was initiated by the county executive in right after the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election in which parties seeking to reverse the merger won a majority. Vestby is a municipality in former Akershus now Viken county, Norway. It is part of the Follo traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Vestby. General information Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old ''Vestby'' farm (Old Norse: ''Vestbýr''), since the first church was built here. The first element is ''vestr'' which means "west" and the last element is ''býr'' meaning "farm". The neighbouring farms have the names ''Østby'' ("eastern farm"), ''Sunnby'' ("southern farm"), and ''Nordby'' ("northern farm"); and they must all four be the parts of a bigger and older farm, whose name is now unknown.
