AkelPad
AkelPad is a small, expandable text editor for Microsoft Windows. AkelPad is distributed as free and open-source software, hosted on SourceForge where it has been downloaded more than 3 million times. Unicode and codepages AkelPad handles full Unicode files written in UTF-8, UTF-16 (LE or BE), and UTF-32 (LE or BE), and can auto-detect Unicode files with or without a BOM. BOMs (byte order marks) can also be omitted, if desired, from file writing. Codepages installed on the user's system can be used for reading or writing files; text can also be re-coded into other codepages. AkelPad implements an auto-detection algorithm for the detection of some common codepages used (optional). AkelPad can also detect non-text (i.e. binary) files and will issue a message. Code or text folding, or less commonly holophrasting, is a feature of some graphical user interfaces that allows the user to selectively hide ("fold") or display ("unfold") parts of a document. Zen Coding
Emmet (formerly Zen Coding) is a set of plug-ins for text editors that allow for high-speed coding and editing in HTML, XML, XSLT, and other structured code formats via content assist. The project was started by Vadim Makeev in 2008 and continues to be actively developed by Sergey Chikuyonok and Emmet users. Since 2015 Mikael Geletsyan is responsible for UX at Emmet. Autocomplete, or word completion, is a feature in which an application predicts the rest of a word a user is typing. In Android and iOS smartphones, this is called predictive text. In graphical user interfaces, users can typically press the tab key to accept a suggestion or the down arrow key to accept one of several. Autocomplete speeds up human-computer interactions when it correctly predicts the word a user intends to enter after only a few characters have been typed into a text input field. The null character (also null terminator) is a control character with the value zero. A page break is a marker in an electronic document that tells the document interpreter that the content which follows is part of a new page.
