Akademiks (an intentional misspelling of "academician, academics") is an American brand of streetwear clothing popular with devotees of Hip hop culture, hip hop music, art and fashion. The Brand, label was founded by two brothers, Donwan Harrell, Donwan and Emmett Harrell, along with a group of partners. Akademiks has collaborated with Dutchess and Ceaser, the stars of VH1's Black Ink Crew, on a line of streetwear and hats. Akademiks has gained popularity in the clothing industry due to the number of celebrities who wear the brand. Background In 1999, the Harrell brothers founded Akademiks with the aid of Elliot Betesh, a co-founder of Dr. Jay's clothing stores. Akademik Sofia ( bg, Академик) is a Bulgarian football club from Sofia, which currently plays in the fourth tier of Bulgarian football, A RFG Sofia South. The team's stadium is located in the Slatina municipality of Sofia and its capacity is 10,000. Akademik was founded in 1947 by students from the Sofia University and debuted in A PFG in 1949. The team would quickly establish itself as a top flight team in Bulgarian football in the next decades. Akademik became one of the top Bulgarian teams in the 1950s and 1970s, performing strongly in the domestic and European competitions alike, having been crowned Balkans Cup champion in 1974, among other achievements. OFC Akademik Svishtov ( bg, ОФК Академик Свищов) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Svishtov who play in the North-West Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football. It plays its home matches at Akademik stadium with a capacity of 13,500 seats, and its team colours are blue and white. ''Akademik Lomonosov'' (russian: Академик Ломоносов) is a non-self-propelled power barge that operates as the first Russian floating nuclear power station. The ship was named after Russian Academy of Sciences, academician Mikhail Lomonosov. It is docked in the Pevek harbour, providing heat to the town and supplying electricity to the regional Chaun-Bilibino power system. It is the world’s northernmost nuclear power plant. MV ''Akademik Shokalskiy'' (russian: Академик Шокальский) is an ''Akademik Shuleykin''-class ice-strengthened ship, built in Finland in 1982 and originally used for oceanographic research. In 1998 she was fully refurbished to serve as a research ship for Arctic and Antarctic work; she is used also for expedition cruising. She is named after the Russian oceanographer Yuly Shokalsky. For two weeks from 25 December 2013 ''Akademik Shokalskiy'' was trapped in thick ice in Commonwealth Bay, Antarctica, while operating an expedition for the Australasian Antarctic Expedition 2013–2014. ''Akademik Ioffe'' is a research vessel, named after the Soviet physicist Abram Fedorovich Ioffe. Built in 1988, the vessel has a displacement of 6,600 tons, and a length of . ''Akademik Ioffe '' and ''Akademik Sergey Vavilov'' were built as a joint project. Both ships feature a vertical shaft about two meters in diameter, which opens from the main deck into a special room, from which an acoustic receiver or a transmitter can be lowered to below the waterline by means of a winch.
