Aka Gündüz
Aka Gündüz (1886 – 7 November 1958) was a Turkish poet, composer and politician. He is most notable for having composed the Ankara Marşı (Ankara March). Early life and education Aka Gündüz was born as the son of the Major of the Ottoman Military Kadri Bey from Rize as Hüseyin Enis Avni, but during his life he was known with a variety of pen names such as Hüseyin Enis Avni, Ali Kemal, Enis Avni, Enis Saffet or Seniha Hikmet amongst others. Several years of his childhood he lived in the Balkans due to his fathers military duties. He attended primary school in Serres (in present day Greece) and Selanik (present day Thessaloniki). His education was directed at military career, therefore he studied at the Military junior high school of Selanik and after the Ottoman-Greek war of 1897, he moved to Istanbul and followed up on his studies at the Galatasaray high school, from where he also graduated. Aka Høegh
Aka Høegh (b. 16 December 1947) is a Greenlandic artist. Born in Qullissat on Disko Island, she moved to Qaqortoq in her childhood, and has lived in southern Greenland ever since. As a painter, graphic artist, and sculptor, Høegh focuses on nationalistic expressionism, creating art which reflects local, traditional myths, and is steeped in heritage and local lore. She frequently incorporates legend, nature, and provincial mythos into her works, devising strong connections between her art and local tradition. During the 1970s, she was regularly cited as the main artist in establishing a Greenlandic artistic identity. In September 2013 she was honoured of Nersornaat order. Margaret Aka
Margaret Aka (born 1976) is a soccer player and coach from Papua New Guinea. She is the first woman in Papua New Guinea — and the first in the world outside of New Zealand — to receive an Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) B License in coaching. The first woman in Papua New Guinea to coach a male league team, she is also only the third to do so worldwide. Early years Aka is from the village of Guhi, in Kimbe, West New Britain Province. Growing up, Aka heard stories from her father about playing soccer. She did not play soccer as a child, however, as it was widely considered a sport for boys. Véronique Bra Kanon (née Aka; born 16 August 1959) is an Ivorian politician and vice-president of the National Assembly of the Ivory Coast.
