Vice Admiral (India), Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, PVSM, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, AVSM, Vishisht Seva Medal, VSM, ADC is a flag officer of the Indian Navy. He is currently the Flag Officer Commanding, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Western Naval Command since 29 November 2021 succeeding Vice Admiral (India), Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar on his elevation. Previously, he served as the Flag Officer Commanding, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. He assumed the position on 1 March 2021 after the appointment of Vice Admiral (India), Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain as the is the Vice Chief of Defence Staff. Vice admiral is a three-star flag officer rank in the Indian Navy. It is the second-highest active rank in the Indian Navy. Vice admiral ranks above the two-star rank of rear admiral and below the four-star rank of admiral, which is held by the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS). Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, AVSM, YSM, VSM is a serving Flag officer in the Indian Navy. He currently serves as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command. The Videsh Seva Medal is a service medal of the Indian Armed Forces. It is presented to all ranks of the three services for services rendered outside India. It was instituted on 26 January 1960. It can also be awarded posthumously. History The Videsh Seva Medal was instituted on 26 January 1960 by the Government of India, with the approval of the President of India. The Sainya Seva Medal is a medal of the Indian Armed Forces. The medal is awarded in recognition of non-operational service under conditions of hardship and severe climate in specified areas. Operations Parakram Medal is a military award of India. It was awarded in recognition of the services of Armed Forces personnel and civilians in Operation Parakram. Western Naval Fleet
The Western Naval Command is one of the three command–level formations of the Indian Navy. It is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. As the senior–most of the three formations, the command is responsible for the all naval forces in the Arabian Sea and western parts of the Indian Ocean and the naval establishments on the west coast of India. Operation Pawan ( hi, कार्यवाही पवन ''Kãryvãhi Pavan'', lit. "Operation Wind") was the code name assigned to the operation by the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) to take control of Jaffna from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), better known as the Tamil Tigers, in late 1987 to enforce the disarmament of the LTTE as a part of the Indo-Sri Lanka Accord.
