Ajay Mishra Teni (born 25 September 1960) is a politician and a Member of Parliament (India), Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha. He is the current Minister of State in Ministry of Home affairs, Government of India. He represents the Kheri (Lok Sabha constituency), Kheri constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party political party. Early life and education Mishra was born in Banbirpur, Banveer Pur village in Lakhimpur Kheri district. He attended the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University's Christ Church College, Kanpur and DAV College, Kanpur and received Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws degrees. He is also known as Ajay Kumar Mishra. The Minister of Home Affairs (or simply, the Home Minister, short-form HM) is the head of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India. One of the senior-most officers in the Union Cabinet, the chief responsibility of the Home Minister is the maintenance of India's internal security; the country's large police force comes under its jurisdiction. Occasionally, they are assisted by the Minister of State of Home Affairs and the lower-ranked Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
