Aisha Galimbaeva
Aisha Garifkyzy Galimbaeva ( kk, Aişa Ğarifqyzy Ğalymbaeva; December 29, 1917, in Issyk, Almaty Province – April 21, 2008) was a Kazakhstani painter and educator. She is noted for her colourful and realistic depictions of women's changing position in the Soviet Bloc in the mid-20th century. Life and career Aisha Galimbaeva was born in 1917 in the village of Issyk in the Almaty Province of Kazakhstan. She demonstrated an aptitude for drawing and painting at an early age. She received her artistic education with artists L.P. Leontev, A.I. Bortnikov, and A.M. Cherkassy. By the age of 17 had received her diploma from the N.V. Gogol Art College in Almaty. She graduated from Almaty Art School in 1943 and worked at the АН-Union State Cinematography Institute in Moscow. Almaty Province
Almaty Region ( kk, Алматы облысы, Almaty oblysy; russian: Алматинская область, Almatinskaya oblast) is a Regions of Kazakhstan, region in Kazakhstan, located in the southeastern part of the country. Its capital, from 1997 to 2022 was the city of Taldykorgan. But with the creation of the new Jetisu Region, Jetysu Region in 2022, Taldykorgan was chosen to be its capital and the capital of Almaty region was moved to the city of Qonayev, Kunayev. Orientalism
In art history, literature and cultural studies, Orientalism is the imitation or depiction of aspects in the Eastern world. These depictions are usually done by writers, designers, and artists from the Western world. In particular, Orientalist painting, depicting more specifically the Middle East, was one of the many specialisms of 19th-century academic art, and the literature of Western countries took a similar interest in Oriental themes. Almaty Art School
Almaty (; kk, Алматы; ), formerly known as Alma-Ata ( kk, Алма-Ата), is the largest city in Kazakhstan, with a population of about 2 million. It was the capital of Kazakhstan from 1929 to 1936 as an autonomous republic as part of the Soviet Union, then from 1936 to 1991 as a union republic and finally from 1991 as an independent state to 1997 when the government relocated the capital to Akmola (renamed Astana in 1998, Nur-Sultan in 2019, and back to Astana in 2022).
