Airey Middleton Sheffield Neave, (;) (23 January 1916 – 30 March 1979) was a British soldier, lawyer and Member of Parliament (MP) from 1953 until his assassination in 1979. John Robinson Airey
John Robinson Airey (1868–1937) was a British schoolteacher, mathematician and astrophysicist. Early life Airey was the eldest child of William Airey, a stone mason, and Elizabeth Airey, who were both born in Preston under Scar, North Yorkshire. He was the oldest from four siblings, the other three being Elizabeth Ann (born 1870), Edwin (1878–1955), and Maud (about 1880). The 1871 census showed the family was living at Hunslet, Leeds; by 1881 they had moved to 28 Grosvenor Street, West Leeds. Teaching career In his youth, Airey studied at Blenheim Board School and Leeds Central High School. He then worked as an teaching assistant at the high school in the science department. In architecture, an area (areaway in North America) is an excavated, subterranean space around the walls of a building, designed to admit light into a basement. Also called a lightwell, it often provides access to the house and a store-room/service cupboard for tradesmen, such as a coal store vault under the pavement. The term is most commonly applied to urban houses of the Georgian period in the UK, where it was normal for the service rooms, such as the kitchen, scullery and laundry, to be in the basement. Areas were commonly enclosed for safety reasons by wrought iron or cast iron railings, which became one of the principal decorative features of the astylar terraced houses of this period. Aireys Inlet is a small coastal inlet and town located on the Great Ocean Road, southwest of Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. Aireys Inlet is located between Anglesea, Victoria, Anglesea and Lorne, Victoria, Lorne, and joined with Fairhaven, Victoria, Fairhaven, Moggs Creek, Victoria, Moggs Creek, and Eastern View, Victoria, Eastern View to the west. Terence Airey
Lieutenant General Sir Terence Sydney Airey (9 July 1900 – 26 March 1983) was an officer in the British Army. Family and education Airey was the son of Sydney Airey. He was educated at Gresham's School, Holt, and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Airey was married on 1 November 1933 in Egypt to Constance Hedley, who bore him a son named John Francis St George Airey. This marriage was dissolved in 1947, when he married secondly Bridget Georgiana Vesey, a daughter of Colonel the Hon. Thomas Eustace Vesey and Lady Cecilia Kathleen Browne, daughter of the 5th Earl of Kenmare. Lady Airey died in 2006. Stuart James Airey (born 18 March 1983) is an English first-class cricketer. Airey is right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium-fast. He was born in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. Airey made his debut for Lincolnshire in the 2001 MCCA Knockout Trophy against Cheshire. Airey has played Minor counties cricket for Lincolnshire from 2001 to present, which has included 24 Minor Counties Championship matches and 37 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A appearance for Lincolnshire against Norfolk in the 1st round of the 2004 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which was played in 2003. Robert Airey
Robert Berkeley Airey (21 September 1874 – 23 June 1933) was an English first-class cricketer and an officer in the British Army. The son of Robert Airey senior, he was born in September 1874 at Southminster, Essex. Airey was educated at Tonbridge School, before attending the Royal Military College at Sandhurst. He graduated from there as a second lieutenant into the South Wales Borderers in March 1895. He transferred to the Army Service Corps (ASC) in January 1898, at which point he was also promoted to lieutenant, with a further promotion to captain following in January 1901. He saw active service in the Second Boer War in South Africa, from which he returned in September 1902. He was seconded for service with the Egyptian Army in November 1902, and stayed there until 1907. Philip Airey (born 14 November 1991), known as Phil Airey, is a retired English footballer, who played as a striker. Airey has played for Premier League club Newcastle United, Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, Blyth Spartans and a spell on loan at Whitley Bay. Club career Airey joined the Newcastle United Academy at age 10 and made his reserve team debut on 18 November 2008 against Everton as a right back. Peter Airey (9 January 1865 – 10 August 1950) was a Treasurer of Queensland, a member of the Queensland Legislative Council, and a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Airey was also known as a poet and as a short story writer, publishing a number of pieces in various periodicals from 1888.
