Air Wargaming
Air wargaming, like naval wargaming, is a niche specialism within the wider miniatures wargaming hobby. Due to the relatively short time over which aerial combat has developed air wargaming periods tend to break down into three broad periods: * World War I – from the earliest air combat to the 1920s * World War II – 1930s to the early 1950s * "Modern" – the missile age To this can be added science fiction and "alternate history" such as the various incarnations of ''Crimson Skies'' or Victorian Science Fiction such as ''Aeronef''. Air wargaming is served by a specialist wargames society, AirWarSoc, which was formed by Steve Blease (founder of the Society of Fantasy and Science Fiction Wargamers); AirWarSoc currently exists as an online entity. The development of military flight occurred during the period covered by the Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers and air wargaming articles appear frequently in its quarterly Journal. Board games WW1 * '' Ace of Aces'' (Flying ...

Naval Wargaming
Naval wargaming is a branch of the wider hobby of miniature wargaming. Generally less popular than wargames set on land, naval wargaming nevertheless enjoys a degree of support around the world. Both historical and fantasy rulesets are available. Model ships have long been used for wargaming, but it was the introduction of elaborate rules in the early 20th century that made the hobby more popular. Small miniature ships, often in 1:1200 scale and 1:1250 scale, were manoeuvred on large playing surfaces to recreate historical battles. These models were basic representations of ship types, with enough detail to make them recognisable. Firms such as Bassett-Lowke marketed these to the public in England, along with more detailed versions that appealed to collectors. Prior to World War II, the German company Wiking became a leader in the field, but the war ended its dominance. After World War II, several manufacturers started business in Germany, which remains a major centre of produc ...

Ad Astra Games
''Attack Vector: Tactical (AV:T)'' is a space combat wargame published by Ad Astra Games. The game is consciously designed to model comparatively realistic space combat and eschew common conventions of space warfare. Attack Vector: Tactical is set in the "Ten Worlds," a region of space expanded ten parsecs from Sol. Some factors, unusual to the genre of space combat games, that AV:T includes: * Energy inputs, thermodynamic efficiencies, wavelengths and focal array sizes of beam weapons. * The thermodynamic problems of power generation and heat dissipation for closed-loop coolant reactors on spaceships. * Specific impulse (I_) and propellant mass fraction of the fusion torches used to power the drive. While the fusion torch in AV:T, with its high Isp (around 100,000 seconds) and thrusts measured in 125 milligee increments are decidedly speculative, they are considerably more conservative than is common in reaction drives in science fiction. (They are probably off by merely an or ...

They also produce card games and family games. The current management and creative team includes Tony Curtis, Rodger MacGowan, Mark Simonitch, and Andy Lewis.
