Air Draft (nautical)
Air draft (or air draught) is the distance from the surface of the water to the highest point on a Marine vessel, vessel. This is similar to the "Draft (hull), deep draft" of a vessel which is measured from the surface of the water to the deepest part of the hull below the surface, but air draft is expressed as a height, not a depth. Allanburg Bridge
Bridge 11, also known as the Allanburg Bridge, is a vertical-lift bridge over the Welland Canal within the City of Thorold and community of Allanburg, Ontario, Canada. The location was used for the groundbreaking ceremony for the canal. It was constructed and completed in 1930. The bridge carries Ontario Highway 20, Hwy 20 connecting Niagara Falls, Ontario, Niagara Falls to Fonthill, Ontario, Fonthill. The bridge has a main span. It was designed by John L. Harrington, Harrington, Howard & Ash, the predecessor of HNTB. It was rehabilitated in 2001 and is a Truss bridge#Roadbed types, through-truss vertical-lift bridge with clearance for shipping. On August 11, 2001, the bridge was struck by the MS Windoc (1959) when the lift span was lowered before the ship cleared the structure. The ship caught fire. After minor repairs to the bridge, it reopened to vehicular traffic on November 16, 2001.

Panama Canal Expansion Project
The Panama Canal expansion project ( es, ampliación del Canal de Panamá), also called the Third Set of Locks Project, doubled the capacity of the Panama Canal by adding a new lane of traffic allowing for a larger number of ships, and increasing the width and depth of the lanes and locks allowing larger ships to pass. The new ships, called New Panamax, are about one and a half times the previous Panamax size and can carry over twice as much cargo. The expanded canal began commercial operation on 26 June 2016. The project has: * Built two new sets of locks, one each on the Atlantic and Pacific sides, and excavated new channels to the new locks. * Widened and deepened existing channels. * Raised the maximum operating water level of Gatun Lake.

A structure gauge, also called the minimum clearance outline, is a diagram or physical structure that sets limits to the extent that bridges, tunnels and other infrastructure can encroach on rail vehicles. It specifies the height and width of platforms, tunnels and bridges, and the width of the doors that allow access to a warehouse from a rail siding. Specifications may include the minimum distance from rail vehicles to railway platforms, buildings, electrical equipment boxes, signal equipment, third rails or supports for overhead lines. A related but separate gauge is the loading gauge: a diagram or physical structure that defines the maximum height and width dimensions in railway vehicles and their loads.
