Air University Press
Air University Press is a division of the Academic Services Directorate and housed under the Muir S. Fairchild Research Information Center of Air University, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. It publishes faculty and student research, academic journals, other materials relevant to the Air University program, school-selected student papers, faculty research efforts, and other documents that support AU's program of professional military education. Among its paper series are Air War College's Maxwell Papers, Air Command and Staff College's Wright Flyers, the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies's Drew Papers, and the Fairchild, Walker, Chennault and Kenney series. It also publishes ''Air and Space Power Journal'', the professional journal of the Air Force. Maxwell Air Force Base , officially known as Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, is a United States Air Force (USAF) installation under the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The installation is located in Montgomery, Alabama, United States. Occupying the site of the first Wright Flying School, it was named in honor of Second Lieutenant William C. Maxwell, a native of Atmore, Alabama. The base is the headquarters of Air University (AU), a major component of Air Education and Training Command (AETC), and is the U.S. Air Force's center for Joint Professional Military Education (PME). The host wing for Maxwell-Gunter is the 42d Air Base Wing (42 ABW). The Air Force Reserve Command's 908th Airlift Wing (908 AW) is a tenant unit and the only operational flying unit at Maxwell. The ''Air & Space Power Journal'' was name of the flagship journal of the Department of the United States Air Force from 2001 to 2021. The journal, now named ''Air & Space Operations Review'', is a quarterly military science scholarly journal published by Air University Press, the academic publisher of the United States Air Force, in English. Due to budget cuts, the print version was temporarily suspended in 2022. Its website hosts electronic versions of all past publications.
