Air Centrafrique
Air Centrafrique was the flag carrier of the Central African Republic from 1966 to the late 1970s. The company operated domestic services. It had its headquarters in Bangui. History The carrier was formed as Compagnie Centre Africaine Air Bangui in 1966 in association with Air Afrique and Union de Transports Aériens (UTA), with the latter providing management and technical assistance. It was conceived to provide feeder services to Air Afrique. Operations started in early 1967, linking Bangui with Berberati using Douglas DC-3 aircraft. In , a Beech 95 Baron was acquired for flying new routes to Bakouma and Bangassou. One DC-3 and one Beech Baron made up the aircraft park at . Bangui
Bangui () (or Bangî in Sango, formerly written Bangi in English) is the capital and largest city of the Central African Republic. It was established as a French outpost in 1889 and named after its location on the northern bank of the Ubangi River (french: Oubangui); the Ubangi itself was named from the Bobangi word for the "rapids" located beside the settlement, which marked the end of navigable water north from Brazzaville. The majority of the population of the Central African Republic lives in the western parts of the country, in Bangui and the surrounding area. The Sud Aviation SE 210 Caravelle is a French jet airliner produced by Sud Aviation. It was developed by SNCASE in the early 1950s and made its maiden flight on 27 May 1955. It included some de Havilland designs and components developed for the de Havilland Comet. SNCASE merged into the larger Sud Aviation conglomerate before the aircraft entered revenue service on 26 April 1959 with Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS); 282 were built until production ended in 1972. It was ordered by airlines on every continent and operated until its retirement in 2005. Ouadda is a town located in the Central African Republic prefecture of Haute-Kotto. History On 10 December 2012, the rebels from Séléka seized Ouadda, as well as weapons left by fleeing soldiers. Carnot, Central African Republic
Carnot is a city located in the south west of the Central African Republic (CAR), in the prefecture of Mambéré-Kadéï. It has a population of 54,551 (2012 census), making it the fourth largest city in CAR by population, and the second largest city of the prefecture after Berbérati. The city takes its name as a tribute to the assassinated French President Sadi Carnot. The city is situated on the eastern bank of the Mambéré river, and is served by Carnot Airport. Bria, Central African Republic
Bria is the capital of Haute-Kotto, one of the 14 prefectures of the Central African Republic. As of the 2003 census the town had a population of 35,204. Geography Bria is located on the Kotto River. History Civil war On 18 December 2012 Bria was captured by Séléka rebels. On 21 November 2016 an armed conflict broke out between the ethnicities Gula and Peuhl representing different armed groups resulting in death of 92 people, many more injured and 12000 refugees around the UN camp outside the city.
