Air Battle Manager
Air battle manager (ABM) is a rated officer career field in the United States Air Force that provide command and control capability to airborne and ground units. The Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) for ABM is 13B. Training Undergraduate Air Battle Manager Training (UABMT) for the active US Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve is a 6-month course conducted by the 337th Air Control Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base. Following training, graduates will advance to the E-3 AWACS, E-8 JSTARS, Control and Reporting Center (CRC), or Battle Control Center (BCC). 337th Air Control Squadron
The 337th Air Control Squadron is part of the 33d Fighter Wing, an Air Education and Training Command (AETC) unit, based at the United States Air Force's Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The squadron's present mission was activated at Tyndall in 1947, making it the base's oldest surviving mission. During the past decades, radar operations and maintenance has been taught to tens of thousands of personnel of all ranks. Tyndall Air Force Base
Tyndall Air Force Base is a United States Air Force Base located east of Panama City, Florida. The base was named in honor of World War I pilot 1st Lt. Frank Benjamin Tyndall. The base operating unit and host wing is the 325th Fighter Wing (325 FW) of the Air Combat Command (ACC). The base had a resident population of 2,994 at the 2010 census. The Northrop Grumman E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) is a United States Air Force airborne ground surveillance, battle management and command and control aircraft. It tracks ground vehicles and some aircraft, collects imagery, and relays tactical pictures to ground and air theater commanders.
