Air Atlantic
Air Atlantic was a Canadian airline, operating a fleet of BAe 146-200, BAe 4100 and Dash 8-100 aircraft. Founded and majority owned by Craig Dobbin, Air Atlantic was established in 1986 and operated Dash 7 aircraft as an interim solution until delivery of their first Dash 8's. Air Atlantic functioned as a feeder airline for Canadian Pacific Airlines and later Canadian Airlines International throughout Atlantic Canada and offered limited service from that region to Quebec, Ontario and New England. It ceased operations in October 1998. Craig Dobbin
Craig Lawrence Dobbin, (12 September 1935 – 7 October 2006) was an industrialist and chairman and chief executive officer of CHC Helicopter Corporation, a public company traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. The company, headquartered in Richmond, BC, is the world's largest helicopter company, providing global helicopter services. Dobbin was born in St. John's, Newfoundland and received his early education at Saint Bonaventure's College in St. John's. After a period of employment with P. J. Dobbin Lumber and Building Supplies, Dobbin engaged in a short-haul trucking venture and underwater salvage operation until he started real estate speculation in St. John's in 1963. The venture, later known as Omega Investments Ltd., moved operations to Ottawa and subsequently established offices in Montreal. Buttonville Municipal Airport or Toronto/Buttonville Municipal Airport is a medium-sized airport in the neighbourhood of Buttonville in Markham, Ontario, Canada, north of Toronto. It is operated by Torontair. Due to its proximity to Toronto's suburbs, there are several strict noise-reduction procedures for aircraft using the airport, which is open and staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Stephenville Airport is an airport located south southeast of Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It was built by the United States Air Force and operated as Ernest Harmon Air Force Base from 1941 to 1966.
