Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in the air or mist environment without soil or an aggregate medium. The word "aeroponic" is derived from the Greek meanings of ''aer'' ("air") and ''ponos'' ("labour"). It is a subset of hydroponics, since water is used in aeroponics to transmit nutrients. A drop or droplet is a small column of liquid, bounded completely or almost completely by free surfaces. A diaphragm pump (also known as a Membrane pump) is a positive displacement pump that uses a combination of the reciprocating action of a rubber, thermoplastic or teflon diaphragm and suitable valves on either side of the diaphragm ( check valve, butterfly valves, flap valves, or any other form of shut-off valves) to pump a fluid.
