Ainie Knight (born 24 May 1986) is a Philippines international lawn and indoor bowler. Biography Knight from Sagay, Negros Occidental, in the Philippines won a bronze medal in the pairs at the 2012 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Adelaide. She has won three medals in the pairs at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships. In 2014, she won the Hong Kong International Bowls Classic pairs title with Sonia Bruce. Sagay, officially the City of Sagay ( hil, Dakbanwa sang Sagay; ceb, Dakbayan sa Sagay; fil, Lungsod ng Sagay), is a 3rd class component city in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. The Hong Kong International Bowls Classic is an international lawn bowls competition. It is one of the most prestigious events on the lawn bowls calendar. It started out as a pairs competition for men in 1981, with a singles event added for men in 1983 and later singles and pairs competition for women added to the programme in 2008. 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship
The 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was to be the 14th edition of the World Championships to be held at the Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. There were to be eight events that determined the 2021 world champions, the men's singles, doubles, triples and fours and the women's singles, doubles, triples and fours and in addition there are two overall team winners who receive the Leonard and Taylor trophies respectively. It was originally scheduled from 23 May to 7 June 2020 but the event was officially cancelled on 9 March 2021. Postponement The event followed suit of other sporting events around the world in early 2020, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak wreaking havoc across the sporting industry. Sonia Bruce
Asuncion 'Sonia' Bruce (born 1966) is an Philippines international lawn bowler. Bowls career Bruce competed in the 2008 World Outdoor Bowls Championship and 2012 World Outdoor Bowls Championship but came to prominence when winning a bronze medal at the 2016 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Christchurch in the fours with Hazel Jagonoy, Rosita Bradborn and Ronalyn Greenlees. In 2014 and 2016, she won the Hong Kong International Bowls Classic pairs titles, first with Ainie Knight and later with Rosita Bradborn. She has won four medals at the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships, starting in 2003 in Brisbane, where she won a bronze medal in the triples with Lolita Treasure and Milagros Witheridge.
