Aina Owoniyi
Aina Joseph Owoniyi was administrator of Taraba State, Nigeria from August 1998 to May 1999 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar. Owoniyi's administration was notable for lack of corruption. He approved salary increases for Taraba State Civil Servants. In November 1998, Owoniyi suspended indefinitely the Commissioner of Agriculture, Daniel Nyaa Bobzom and his education counterpart Joseph Rishante for insubordination, negligence of duty and sabotage. Amen Edore Oyakhire
Prince Amen Edore Oyakhire (born 21 October 1945) was the Military Administrator of Taraba State, Nigeria between August 1996 and August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha. He was then administrator of Oyo State during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, handing over to the elected civilian governor Lam Onaolapo Adesina in May 1999 at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic. Police career Oyakhire was a commissioner of police, later an Assistant Inspector General (AIG). He was the Police Commissioner, Plateau State Command before being appointed administrator of Taraba State. Jolly Nyame
Jolly Tavoro Nyame (born 25 December 1955) in Zing Local Government Area of present-day Taraba State) was Governor of Taraba State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He also served as governor of the state from January 1992 to November 1993. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Early life Nyame was born on (Dec 25, 1955) in Zing, Taraba state to Christian Parents. In line with his Christian faith, he took up a vocation in Priesthood and was Ordained a Reverend in the United Methodist Church of Nigeria. Political life Nyame joined politics in 1991, contested for Governor of Taraba state in 1992 and won. His term as governor in 1992 was short-lived due to the military takeover of power. Abdulsalami Abubakar
Abdulsalami Abubakar (; born 13 June 1942) is a Nigerian statesman and retired Nigerian Army general who served as the ''de facto'' President of Nigeria from 1998 to 1999. He was also Chief of Defence Staff between 1997 and 1998. He succeeded General Sani Abacha upon his death. During his leadership, Nigeria adopted a modified version of the 1979 constitution, which provided for multiparty elections. He transferred power to president-elect Olusegun Obasanjo on 29 May 1999. He is the current Chairman of the National Peace Committee.
