Ain Arnat Airport , also known as Sétif International Airport, is an airport serving Sétif, Algeria. It was opened in 1945. Introduction Setif airport is an international civilian-military airport serving the city of Setif in the region of the Highlands in southern Kabylia, and its region (wilayas of Setif and Bordj-Bou-Arreridj). The airport is managed by the EGSA Constantine. This airport is also a military airport, hosting the 9th training helicopter regiment (9th RHE) of the Algerian Air Force, as well as an infantry training center and the 4th commando parachute regiment (4th RPC) of the Algerian army. Sétif ( ar, سطيف, ber, Sṭif) is the capital of the Sétif Province in Algeria. It is one of the most important cities of eastern Algeria and the country as a whole, since it is considered the trade capital of the country. It is an inner city, situated in the eastern side of Algeria, at 270 kilometers east of Algiers, at 131 km west of Constantine (Algeria), Constantine, in the Hautes Plaines region south of Béjaia and Jijel. Ahmed Ben Bella Airport ( ar, مطار أحمد بن بلة), formally Es-Sénia Airport is an airport located 4.7 nm (8.7 km) south of Oran (near Es Sénia), in Algeria. History During World War II, La Sénia Airport was first used by the French Air Force as a military airfield, first by the Armée de l'Air, and after June 1940, by the Armistice Air Force (french: link=no, Armée de l'Air de Vichy) of the Vichy government. During the Operation Torch landings in 1942, La Sénia was one of the primary objectives of the assault on Oran on 9 November. Tassili Airlines ( ar, طيران الطاسيلي) is an Algerian passenger airline, based in Algiers, owned by Sonatrach, the national state-owned oil company of Algeria. Founded in 1998, Tassili now provides scheduled services out of Houari Boumedienne Airport, as well as its charter flights and helicopter services, that were originally mainly for the Algerian oil industry. History Tassili Airlines was originally established in 1998 as a joint venture between Air Algérie (49%) and the Sonatrach company (51%), both of which are government-owned. Commercial services were launched on 8 April 1999, with a flight from Hassi Messaoud to Algiers.
