Aimée Duffy (EP)
''Aimée Duffy'' is a Welsh-language extended play (EP) by Welsh singer Aimée Duffy (now Duffy), released in 2004 on Welsh record label Awen Records. Originally to be entitled ''Rock, Roll & Soul'', the release came after the singer had come second in a Welsh televised talent show. Background and release of EP After finishing her GCSEs in Pembrokeshire, Duffy returned to Nefyn when she was fifteen, and started singing in various local bands. Following an unsuccessful music project in Switzerland, Duffy returned to Wales in 2003 and was invited to appear on ''Wawffactor'', a Welsh television show similar to ''Pop Idol'', on local station S4C. She was expected to win, but came second to winner Lisa Pedrig. Aimee Anne Duffy (born 23 June 1984) is a Welsh singer, songwriter and actress. Her music style has been described as a mixture of soul, blue-eyed soul, pop rock, neo soul and pop music. Duffy released her debut album, '' Rockferry'', in 2008. It topped the charts in several music markets, and led to worldwide attention. It was preceded by the lead single "Mercy", which reached number one in several countries and the top ten in twelve others. COAST (band)
Coast is a Scottish rock group, based in Oban, UK. Coast's members are Paul Eastham (lead vocals, keyboards, guitars, accordion), Chris Barnes (percussion) and Finlay Wells (guitars). Early history Coast was formed in winter 2007 by the Stockport born singer-songwriter Paul Eastham and his brother, Chris Barnes. A classically trained pianist, Eastham had previously co-written and co-produced the first EP by the Welsh singer Duffy (singer), Duffy, ''Aimée Duffy (EP), Aimée Duffy'', which was released in 2004 under the Welsh Awen Records label. ''Rockferry'' is the debut studio album by Welsh singer Duffy, released on 3 March 2008 in the United Kingdom by A&M Records. It was released in the United States by Mercury Records. Taking four years to record the album, Duffy worked with several producers and writers including Bernard Butler, Steve Booker, Jimmy Hogarth, and Eg White. Primarily a soul recording musically, ''Rockferry'' is composed of ballads, torch songs, and up tempo songs in the style of 1960s pop music. Nefyn
Nefyn (, archaically anglicised as Nevin) is both a small town and a community on the northwest coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, Gwynedd, Wales. Nefyn is popular with visitors for its sandy beach, and has one substantial hotel. The A497 road terminates in the town centre. The community includes Edern and Morfa Nefyn.
