Ahtziri Sandoval
Ahtziri Viridiana Sandoval Pérez (born October 5, 1996 in Guadalajara) is a Mexican artistic gymnast. She is the 2017 Pan American champion on vault. Early life Sandoval was born in Guadalajara on October 5, 1996. She began practicing gymnastics at age five. Career 2014 Sandoval competed at the Pan American Championships, where she helped Mexico finish third as a team. Individually, she received bronze on the uneven bars behind Ashton Locklear and Madison Kocian. 2015 Sandoval competed at the São Paulo Challenge Cup, where she placed sixth on both vault and uneven bars. In July, she competed at the Pan American Games where she helped Mexico finish fifth as a team. Individually, Sandoval qualified to the uneven bars final and finished sixth. 2017 At the 2017 Mexican national championships Sandoval finished third in the all-around. Gymnastics At The 2024 Summer Olympics
Gymnastics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will be contested in three categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. The artistic (27 July to 5 August) and trampoline (2 August) events will occur at the Bercy Arena, with the rhythmic events staging at Porte de La Chapelle Arena from 8 to 10 August. Qualification The qualification pathway for the 2024 Summer Olympics is significantly simplified and modified from those in 2020. In the artistic team event, a maximum of five gymnasts will be eligible to participate as opposed to the four per team and two individuals who competed in Tokyo 2020. Three teams who finish on the podium qualify for the Olympics through the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool with a large proportion of quota places distributed at the same meet in Antwerp, Belgium by the following year. 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Antwerp, Belgium at the Sportpaleis, from 30 September to 8 October 2023. Antwerp hosted the event for the third time; previously the city hosted the first ever World Championships in 1903 and again in 2013. The championships was a qualification event for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The top nine teams in both the men's and women's team qualifications (not including teams that qualified at the previous year's World Championships) obtained five quota places for Paris as a team. Additionally, numerous individuals qualified with a nominative berth for the Olympic Games. Qualification and quotas The first qualification event for the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was the 2022 edition of the event in Liverpool, United Kingdom where the top 8 teams advanced on both the men's and women's side. Natalia Isabel Escalera Cárdenas (born 3 July 2002) is a Mexican artistic gymnast. She is the 2021 Pan American champion and the 2023 Pan American Games bronze medalist on the vault. She represented Mexico at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Early life Escalera was born in Ensenada in 2002 and began gymnastics when she was three years old at Baja Dynamo, where she still trains. Karla Andrea Navas Boyd (born 12 September 2004) is a Panamanian artistic gymnast.
