Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. Korean Curling Championships
The Korean Curling Championships (branded as the KB Financial Korean Curling Championships from 2012 to 2022) are the annual Korean men's and women's curling championships, organized by the Korean Curling Federation (KCF). The winners of the championship qualify for the Korean National Team. Until 2022, they earned the right to represent South Korea at the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships (PACC) and the World Curling Championships if they reached qualification. Every four years, the winners also qualify to represent South Korea at the Winter Olympic Games if the country received a berth. The championship also qualifies the winners for the Asian Winter Games if it is held during the season they are the national team. Starting in 2022, the winners of the championships qualified for the Pan Continental Curling Championships, which replaced the PACC. Wheelchair Curling At The 2014 Winter Paralympics
The wheelchair curling competition of the 2014 Winter Paralympics was held from 8 to 15 March 2014 at the Ice Cube Curling Center in Sochi, Russia. Ten mixed teams competed. Qualification Qualification for the 2014 Paralympics was based on rankings in the 2011, 2012, and 2013 World Wheelchair Curling Championships. The qualification points are allotted based on the nations' final rankings at the World Championships. The points are distributed as shown in the table below. The nine countries with the most points were to qualify for the Sochi Games, while the tenth slot was reserved for the host country, Russia. 2019 World Mixed Curling Championship
The 2019 World Mixed Curling Championship was held from 12 to 19 October in Aberdeen, Scotland. In the final, Canada's Colin Kurz defeated Germany's Andy Kapp 6-5. It was Canada's second consecutive title at the World Mixed, having won in 2018. It was also Germany's first spot on the podium, having never made it past the quarterfinals in past years. 2019 World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event
The 2019 World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event was held December 2–7, 2019 at the Greenacres Curling Club in Howwood, Howwood, Scotland. It was the inaugural qualification event for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, which was previously an open entry event. The tournament was open to any World Curling Federation member not already qualified for the 2020 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship with the top four teams from this event qualifying to play in the Championship in Kelowna, Kelowna, Canada. The four teams that qualified were Germany, Italy, South Korea and China.
