Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba
Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba (born December 16, 1951, Birecik, Turkey) is a Turkish doctor and politician. He is the former mayor and deputy of Şanlıurfa. He served as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry between 2017 and 2018. Political career He was elected as the Mayor of Şanlıurfa in the 2004 local elections as a candidate of the AK Party. Before the 2009 local elections, he was not nominated although he ranked first in his party's opinion poll. Fakıbaba resigned from the party in January 2009 after he was not nominated and announced that he would run as an independent candidate in the elections. The Felicity Party gave open support to Fakıbaba's candidacy. In the elections held on March 29, 2009, Fakıbaba won 44 percent of the votes and was re-elected as the mayor of Şanlıurfa. Birecik
Birecik; ku, Bêrecûk is a town and district of Şanlıurfa Province of Turkey, on the Euphrates. Built on a limestone cliff 400 ft. high on the left/east bank of the Euphrates, "at the upper part of a reach of that river, which runs nearly north-south, and just below a sharp bend in the stream, where it follows that course after coming from a long reach flowing more from the west". Etymology The historical name of the town, ''al-Bīra'' in Arabic and ''Bīreh'' in Syriac, derives from the Aramaic ''Bīrthā'', meaning fortress. It later evolved to ''Birecik'' with the addition of the Turkish diminutive suffix, ''cik''. It is called ''Belejik'' amongst the local population. Archaeology Birecik Dam Cemetery is an Early Bronze Age cemetery near Birecik. It was used extensively for about 500 years at the beginning of the third millennium BC. The Good Party ( Turkish: ''İyi Parti'') is a nationalist, national conservative, Kemalist, and liberal democrat political party in Turkey, established on 25 October 2017 by its current leader Meral Akşener. Their fraternal party is the liberal-conservative Democrat Party. The party's name and flag is a reference to the emblem of the Kayı tribe. General elections were held in Turkey on 1 November 2015 to elect 550 members to the Grand National Assembly. They were the 25th general elections in the History of the Republic of Turkey and elected the country's 26th Parliament.
